Charles River Movers are awesome! Also, I have a friend who's an amazing piano technician, should you need any work or a tuning done. Let me know and I'll pm you his info.
We used Deathwish Piano Movers of Malden for a similar move involving a baby grand. "Specializing in pianos and crane service." (617) 277-8311www.deathwishpiano.com/

Two Marines Moving is the BEST!!! They were on time, professional, didn't cost too much for what we had to move and had it done so quickly. They even helped setup the large pieces of furniture so we could start unpacking ASAP. We used them twice to move in the N VA area.

Stephanie Miller I've worked for the past 10 years at moving company's off and on and I can say two marine movers is the worst and bookstore movers is the best for cheapest quotes. I'm in North Carolina at the moment with my company meathead movers.

Brown Moving is great. They're on time and charge. FLAT rate. I've been screwed by other movers who jack up the price and taxes. Check out brown moving on yelp.

Two Men and a Truck were very good and very reasonable. Broke absolutely nothing. I had pre-packed and there were two stops, storage and where I was living. They do local and long distance.

I've used A-1 Auto Transport when I moved to the area, but it was a longer move and I needed a car shipped too. They might be worth a call or they have a listing of other [moving companies](https://www.a1 autotransport.com/virginia-moving/) in the area if their price doesn't fit your budget. I can't speak to the more local options but I thought they did the job fine and they were more affordable than some of the others I looked into.

I just used Skyride Moving. They were cheaper than a Uhaul and hiring friends but were super careful with my stuff and also not damaging the new apartment. pM if you have any questions.

more work, but a thought - uhaul with a local loading team you hire on each end. What I did when I moved from boston. also, if you don't have much I think Pods and the like can be good - load in DC, unload in a better place.

We moved last July. I just pulled up my Google doc with companies I looked into. I wanted the move done in 1 day over a weekend, and I was trying to move pretty quickly. Some companies charged by weight, some charged by # of trucks - I'm not sure which is best. I think it's all a crapshoot because we paid for the "quality" movers and we ended up getting their third string team of movers who broke 5 pieces of SOLID wood furniture - it was impressive - and stacked 1/3 of our boxes in our garage instead of taking them upstairs. So just be wary and keep an eye on your movers. We kept an eye on them and it still happened. My list: - My Guys Moving and Storage- they could do the move in one day but they stopped calling me. - Potomac Moving Company - they could do one day and were reasonably priced - Quality Moving - they could do the move in 2 days and were pretty pricey. - North American/ ShoreView Team - didn't write down their details - Two Marines - they were only available a week after we were trying to move - All My Sons - don't remember their details - Gentle Giant - they seemed pretty good, didn't go with them though Good luck!!

Valley Moving Solutions is bar none the best in the business around here. Check them out and read the Yelp reviews. Geoff, the owner, is a younger guy in his late 20's and is as professional as they come.

Absolutely recommend moxie movers hands down. We had two guys and a truck come and they threatened that if we don’t call the company and ”cancel” that they won’t move us. They then had us pay 1/3 less in cash. My husband agreed and they broke a dresser and scratched all of our walls. Clearly unprofessional.
I am looking for recommendations for long distance/interstate movers (about 400 miles). Any good experiences?
