Kenny McKenney was Air Force. Was part of the class of 63 I think, but left school to go into the service if I remember correctly. He was the first causality, but was listed as MIA, May 15, 1966 and was not confirmed KIA until the late 90's or there about. http://www.virtualwall.org/dm/MckenneyKD01a.htm use this link to learn more about Kenny McKenney. David Kusy was Army and was KIA October 21, 1967. Graduated from AHS class of 1965. http://www.virtualwall.org/dk/KusyDP01a.htm use this link to learn more about David Kusy. Edmund Michael Loughlin, also Army was KIA in May 28, 1970. He was from Oxford St. over by Pond Lumber. He would have been about 4 years behind us in school. At that time he was known as Mike. http://www.virtualwall.org/dl/LoughlinEM01a.htm use this link to learn more about Mike Loughlin. Records also list a fourth Auburn resident KIA, Allen Avery, Air Force. He was born in 1943 and would have been in the class of 1961, but I don't know if he was living in Auburn at the time of enlistment. His is very interesting story. Don't know if you ever saw the 1988 movie BAT 21 with Gene Hackman and Danny Glover, but it was based, in part, on the rescue mission in which Allen Avery was killed. http://www.virtualwall.org/da/AveryAJ01a.htm use this link to learn more about Allen Avery.

I think we are talking about the same thing. Brian Davis was convicted of the murder. Rolled the body up in a rug (?) and left it in a closet in the apartment. At the time of the murder not sure what the bar was called. Could have been Pinehurst Café, Crossroads, The Panda Lounge or Troy's. At one time or another it was known as all of these. If I'm wrong, some one will know the name.
Scott S. replied:
If memory serves me the bar was called The Panda Lounge at the time that this happened.

Here's the wrap up on this very sad story. WORCESTER - An Auburn man who beat an acquaintance to death with a baseball bat and kept the victim's body in his bedroom closet for weeks pleaded guilty yesterday to manslaughter. Brian C. Davis, 21, formerly of 125 Oxford St., Auburn, was charged with murder in the bludgeoning death of 24-year-old James A. Hackett of Worcester, but pleaded guilty in Worcester Superior Court to a reduced charge of manslaughter. He was sentenced by Judge Francis R. Fecteau to 14 to 20 years. July 15, 1999 was the date that this appeared in the Worcester T & G.

Scott, I worked for George Montouris at the market my senior year at AHS, 1963/64. Great person to work for. He and his wife Betty both hard workers. They had 4 daughters that at various times were part of the work force there. All 4 girls turned out to be very successful in life. BTY was Guy Schofield an older brother of yours? Started in school with him at JB.
Peter M. replied:
Scott sorry for assuming that Guy was a brother. I know that there were several boys in the family. When we were in school, your dad's family lived on Oxford St. about five houses up from Boyce St. If you don't mind, I'm curious about something from back in the 80's? The Vietnam Veteran's brought the moving wall to Worcester and had it on display at Fitton Field at Holy Cross. Along the wall some one had placed a photograph of your dad from his Army day's. I followed closely who was serving from Auburn during the period of the Vietnam war, classmates, friends or neighbors. I did just short of five years after I graduated from AHS, nineteen months in So. Vietnam, so it was natural to keep track of who else was serving. I was in school with three of the four Auburn causalities from Vietnam. Given all of this, from that picture I know your dad served and I also have to figure he made it in and out of his time in the Army. Is he still living? I understand if you would rather not respond.
