What's a nice inexpensive gym in Indian Land? Is their any trails here to walk also?
Cayce W. replied:
There's a trailhead behind Walnut Creek (it's an "out and back"). https://www.facebook.com/152141408186906 Ann Close Springs Greenway is also close by (several different trail heads and trail options). I don't have a gym membership so I'm no help there.

Anne Springs Close Greenway also has a fitness complex, in addition to trails. ASCGreenway.org

Looking for a gym. Hello, I'm looking for a gym membership but every location I check out has a focus on cardio and weight loss. Even though there are some free weights...

A gym where the free weights are not used???? I would jump all over that if I were you!!

Look for powerlifting gyms

I don't know any sites off the top of my head that catalog for the whole country. I do know that there's my state has a powerlifting org that keeps a [catalog](https://www.carolinapowerlifting.com/gyms.html) of gyms with a powerlifting focus, however it's probably not complete and it probabably exludes weightlifting (as in oly lifts) style gyms. It may be worth looking at orgs in your area/region to see if their is any that they recrommend.
That being said, don't wait to find the 'perfect gym' before working out (your post was a bit ambiguous to whether or not you're a begginer). There may not be one. Sure, it's nice to have all the chains, novelty bars, sleds, etc. that you can desire but you can even make good gains at a planet fitness.

looking for a gym is so frustrating. visiting websites and just seeing stock photos of people exercising while not even hinting at what equipment they have is the norm in my experience.

Where are you located? Someone here probably has a recommendation.

A gym that has free weights always available isn't neccesaraly a bad thing, I go to a gym that's very barbell oriented but I often have to wait for a squat rack or a platform. I do get what you're saying about vibe. If it's all treadmills and pin loaded machines it just feels wrong.
At a minimum you want a bench a squat rack and round plates for deadlifts. They don't neccesaraly have to have a dedicated deadlift platform or area but check if or where they're ok with you pulling heavy deads. Deadlifts wreck floors and nothing over about 100kg comes down quietly, even if you're not slamming the bar down. Gyms that aren't strength oriented get upset about this with good reason. You want to be clear on the rules before you sign up.

Either a powerlifting gym or a strongman gym might be what you need to fit your needs. Idk about a catalog. A quick google search lead me to an [old reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Charlotte/comments/2 nhoj1/good_powerlifting_gym/) about someone looking for a gym in your area and they say this is a good option http://fitnessfactorycharlotte.com/
Does anybody know the best gym for the best price around north port/port Charlotte?

We've used Anytime Fitness since they opened in December. I like it because it is a smaller gym and you don't get the typical gym rats that like to yell and scream when they pump iron. I yell, but that's because of the pain!:-) Low key atmosphere as well. They have video's you play on a big screen to do different workouts, including bike riding. Tread mills track your workout and you can follow your profess on a smart phone app. Cable TV on the screens of the treadmills which helps pass the time. 100% recommendation.
