Does anyone know a company that tests old flooring for asbestos?
Kelly F. replied:
well, i just asked my bf, he said old linoleum did have asbestos backing and it should be professionally removed, i found this link about how it should be properly removed, i.e., wearing a respirator mask, etc... http://www.swcleanair.org/pdf/asbestos_flooring.pdf
Dan A. replied:
So its pretty much a given if the tile is 9 x9.. They do not manufacture 9 x9 tile anymore due to the fact most were Asbestos. If a little chips its fine, its when you break and break up the tile. If you are going over with carpet or Laminate flooring it is perfectly safe to leave the tile on the floor and not move it. Last time I knew someone had to ship them out to determine if the tile had asbestos. http://inspectapedia.com/hazmat/Asbestos_Floor_Tile_ID.php
Hello
I'm looking for opinions on hardwood floor refinishing .
Any good recommendations ? Has anyone used DC-Braz Flooring?
Thank you in advance .

I used these people 15 years ago and my floors still look really good. He doesn't use an oil based urethane, he use a 2-part mix of some sort. No odor and dries really fast: http://www.sandmyfloors.com

Can you recommend a place where I can get laminate flooring for less than Lowes or Homedepo? Their cheapest laminate flooring material is 99cent per sq ft.
Holly P. replied:
FYI Remco moved last year from Parkhurst Road. They are now at 108 Middlesex St. Unit 1, N. Chelmsford. http://remcoflooring.com/ Same great place, new location. Did they take over Sunshine? I'm not sure though it looks like they are both at the same address.

HD and Lowe’s both sell a lot of crap. Try a reputable local flooring company like Remco. Buying cheap does not always mean good.
