I’ve not been there myself, but I do have two small kids and I work with adult students who do have children every day. My advice is that allow yourself grace if you need to take a semester or two off school and start again when you can. I know it’s not ideal, but taking care of a newborn is beyond exhausting, especially for the first 4-5 months. Sending ❤️ to you and baby.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion has some resources [here](https://odi.osu.edu/student-parent-resources), including access to on-site childcare within their housing units, but I couldn’t find extensive information just by looking at that webpage. I would recommend emailing odi@osu.edu or giving them a call (614)292-0964. Best wishes!

OSU daycare (OSU child care program) is subsidized based on your income. I suggest getting on the waitlist ASAP (even before you have the baby). My kid was 4 months old when I got a spot. There’s also a student org (I think it’s called students with children or something). The office of equity ([here](https://equity.osu.edu) ) is also something to keep in mind in case you face any discrimination by professors/ supervisors/ etc.

Contact Student Advocacy Services ([http://advocacy.osu.edu/](http://advocacy.osu.edu/)) and get in touch with someone to help with communication to your professors and with navigating any unexpected snags you might encounter. I am an instructor and have had several students with children/pregnancies and they've had great results with SAS. best of luck and congrats on committing to continuing your education!!

Reach out to Student Life Disability Services! They can provide accommodations and assistance for students going through a pregnancy as an undergraduate. Their website is slds.osu.edu and their phone number is 614-292-3307

Playful pets is amazing in Franklinton its also one of cheapest. Steve is the owner and my pitbull pup is exhausted after spending the day over there bc there's like 50 dogs of all sizes and they play all day in a huge warehouse and go outside to a fenced yard every hour or two. It's about $20/day cheaper if you buy bulk/$75 wk m-f.

[Toni Sits Pets](http://www.tonisitspets.com) is a one person operation, so a little more personal touch. Great reviews. [Park Your Paws](http://www.parkyourpaws.org/aboutuspage.html) is a more typical doggie day care.

Doran’s is always my go to for trainers. I’ve taken 3 different dogs there. The dog needs to be at least 6 months old first though. Daycare all depends where you live/work. The convenience of pick up/drop off will trump virtually everything else.

Homedog Resorts just opened up in the Brewery District. They offer doggie daycare in addition to boarding. I used them back when they were strictly an in-home service so I haven’t been to the new facility. The owner was really good and patient with my dog.

Bart and gabriel pet sitting are pretty awesome. I once paid them to sit with my pup 8 hrs a day for a whole week. They shifted things around and made it work and took the best care of my old dog.

Not sure if the location would work for you but Fuzzz playground is a great place for the dogs during the day. They play all day and run around. Wears them out real good! The packages of day care in bulk makes it pretty good from a price point too.

Just that I could do child care at events and such. For the next couple months I'm crazy busy so don't have much time for even that. Wish I could recommend a good daycare. Our kids went to the School for Young Children on Weisheimer, but that is a pre-school. They were accommodating and friendly but it is not a vegan space.

OK- I have a vegan friend who works full time at ODJFS during the day. Blogger Heathen Vegan Mama: http://heathenveganmamma.blogspot.com/ She says she is willing to do child care in the evenings/weekends- She can be reached at 740-502-8082 or via email at: kmudbug75@netscape.net She also says, that since she works at ODJFS, if there is anyone who is considering going into child day care, she can help them get the process going.

The [Doggie Daycare Center](http://www.doggiedaycarecolumbus.com/) is where I take my two pups. If you buy 10 sessions, it's $33/day for both dogs. The dogs love it there. They come home and they're spent. They have on site grooming as well. I've used the nail cutting service and have been pleased with it. The full grooming service is a little steep for me though.

I take our girls to Fuzzz Playground in Grove City. They have a huge indoor facility and almost an acre outside. They're a small operation so I feel like the dogs get more attention and you don't have 50+ dogs running around a small area. It's all in what you think your dog can handle.

I think PetSuites has a daycare. The one off of 23 is awesome for an overnight stay, my dog always seems so happy when he comes home. We were often visiting Columbus for the night so we would have him stay there because our friends weren't dog friendly. We noticed a big difference in his attitude when we switched to the PetSuites vs. Pet Palace ( he always came back anxious). They have a grooming service I plan to use as I am moving in the next month.

A friend of mine is a manager at [Pet Palace](https://www.petpalaceresort.com/services/doggy-day-care/), they are pretty nice and they have an extremely passionate staff. Their Day Care isn't too bad in terms of price. I definitely recommend them.

http://www.grinrescue.org I know a volunteer. I trust them immensely. The surgery that dog needs is expensive. How did it happen? Considering this is a urinary type issue, and costs a bit to fix, I just figured rescue realistically might be their only option.
