Check out the Canine Sports Center, talk to Darren Rigg, he can give you all the info. I take my dogs to the VCA Speciality Group in Kearny Mesa for specialists, they have done right by my dogs and I have been very pleased. I live in Ramona, so cannot give you a good primary vet for the Lakeside area but maybe someone else can.
Rhonda D. replied:
The nice thing about the Canine Sports Center is you just pay dues every month and you can go anytime and train and don't have to take lessons with anyone there. Its nice that way and the dues go to help care for the greyhounds and maintence of the fie ld. Its a nice place to train with a lot of distractions, between other people training there too, the greyhounds coming and going and people coming and going. Makes your dogs pretty bomb proof to outside distractions, its been awesome for my dogs. Its a 15 minute drive from Lakeside. The Agility Club of San Diego also train out there. http://www.caninesportscenter.org/
Rachel P. replied:
Rhonda Dunn, so the Canine Sports Center is where the Agility Club of San Diego is? That sounds awesome! As I will be a stay-at-home-mom for a while, being able to train in the middle of the day is fantastic!

Welcome to SD (soon) Rachel. There are USDAA trials starting up again in SD county but most of us that do USDAA travel up north to OC and LA since there were never enough here. There are plenty of AKC trials and no UKI.

Welcome! We have a lot of CPE events, several NADAC and ASCA events as well. All breeds welcome. I double the recommendation on Dr. Cheryl. She travels to see clients so she's in Lakeside regularly. The Agility Club of San Diego is a great place t o start. Also, Ken Miller teaches in the El Cajon area as well. I hear he's great! Starting with the club, though, would really get you involved in the local scene. Great people there. I don't live in the area, but I have been to see Dr. Kevin May for acupunture for my dog. He's at El Cajon Valley Vet Hospital.
Joe P. replied:
Ann Croft offers agility coaching on Tuesdays at beautiful training field in Fallbrook. She's accepting new students...hope to meet you there.
Patricia N. replied:
Early welcome to San Diego smile emoticon Like everyone has said there a huge agility community here with lots of trials. Trainers near lakeside I know of are Ken Miller in El Cajon and the agility club in the dehesa area. I'm guessing both will let you check out a class and see which works for you. I use Cuyamaca animal hospital in Santee for just normal vet stuff and love them, Dr Hyatt and Martin are the 2 I normally see and Dr Hyatt even does acupuncture if that's something your interested in.
Rhonda D. replied:
Oh and Dr. Cheryl Ricketts for Chiropractic has been awesome and I know a lot of agility people who go to her.

Doctor Tracy Laird at Medical City on Forest Lane. She has a few office hours at her McKinney office on 121 near Craig Ranch area. She might have office hours in Plano too, but you'd need to check because I'm not sure since I've never been there.

I don't personally know of any, but healthgrades.com may be helpful to your search as you can filter by areas of practice and location and view patient ratings.
