If you examine the COP for geothermal IN OUR AREA it is virtually the same as a reverse cycle heat pump. .. or air to water system. Not as sexy sounding for sure, but depending on outside ambient air temperature the RC units are more efficient in some months and only a percentage point or so less in others...all without the added expense of digging wells or ditches for geothermal. Same pumps. .same compressors, same warranty too. But much less expensive. NW Mechanical has been selling both for many years. Ask for Buzz, the owner. (Disclaimer: I worked for NWM for 4+ years up to about 3 years ago.)
