favorite antique shops in the area (DFW and Denton too)?!
Janice M. replied:
I like stores on the square in Denton, and the antique mall in Old Town Carrollton. Also the antique shops in the Design District in Dallas! There's also a weekly antique auction up in Sanger.

Vineyards in Colleyville, Mid Cities in Bedford, and East Fork in Mesquite. Mesquite is the farthest but great prices, especially if you're looking more vintage than high end antique. Also, I just found this list.......http://www.dallasnews.com/lifestyles/home-and-gardening/headlines/20140523-dallas-area-antique-malls-serve-shoppers-of-all-ages-and-budgets.ece

Try Meme and PawPaws Antiques. This is on 114 about 6 miles past the Speedway, on the right (with the hauls and fireworks stand). About 25 min from here. Lots of unique painted and secondhand wooden dressers, nightstands, tables, desks and other eclectic pieces that are real wood furniture but extremely reasonable prices. Many furniture items in the $25-$200 range. Also lots of decorative and collectible items, glassware, etc. And a tearoom.
Is there an antique appraiser in the area? We might want to sell some antiques we inherited. Thanks.
Carol K. replied:
Foe appraisals I would go to Dallas. Heritage Auction is top drawer and Dallas Antiques is another good one. If you have not been tuned in, if your antique furniture is "brown" ( mahogany, cherry walnut, oak) I have been told that there is no market for it and it is not worth a lot.
