Chelsey, as someone who began as a counselor before going back to school to be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I understand the need for balance in mental health between both quality psychotherapy and psychiatric medications. If you are interested, give us a call or send me a message. I would be willing to have a conversation with you to see if the practice would be a good fit for you. https://www.facebook.com/VertreesClinicalGroupPLLC/?fref=ts

Thomas Vertrees is great, can't recommend him enough.
Jill S. replied:
You're braver than you know for reaching out. You should be proud of yourself. There are so many people that need help but are afraid or discouraged because it is still so taboo in our culture. I see Julie Vogel for counseling. She's amazing and has evening and weekend hours. She is a bit of a drive - near the airport but she's worth it. She also does EMDR. If you haven't heard of it look it up. It's great for anyone who has P.T.S.D. I still haven't found anyone for meds yet aside from my general practitioner but am looking.
looking for a psychiatrist who accepts Tenncare. specifically a doctor who does counseling AND medication. any suggestions are appreciated!

I would like to recommend Music Therapy. Since music uses the opposite side of your brain to bring back memories (and in my case 1980 s song lyrics), it crosses over and has been shown to be effective in helping connect with memories.

Dr Coleen Friddel is a psychiatrist in donelson/airport area - she doesn't specialize specifically in Pediatric but we love her and she knows her stuff. As far as cub scouts - most schools have a pack - but if not I know that Stoner Creek Elementary's pack will welcome him - he doesn't have to be a student in that school.
