Clare Short--to my knowledge there are no rheumatologists in Lebanon or Wison County. I have had VERY good experiences with Dr Marcus Owen in Murfreesboro and Dr Victor Byrd in Nashville. I am unaware of any Rhermatologists or Endocrinologists in Middle Tennessee that will see you without a referral, and the wait can be quite long for an appointment. I would recommend that you get established with a Primary Physician and let him/her make that referral for you. I would be happy to be that Physician for you.

You need a referral, but Dr. Snow at Heritage Medical is a great endocrinologist. He explains things well and will tweak medicine to make it "normal" for you, not "normal" based on lab reports. I fought with my PCP for a referral because she kept telling me I "was fine" and I knew I didn't feel fine. Unlike her, Dr. Snow listened to me and didn't rely 100% on my blood work. He also explains things very well and does these cool drawings for you all over the room walls and windows.

For a great family doctor, I recommend Dr Burbank. She is technically an internist but she is a great one. After suffering from headaches for 16 years, she finally said, "Good God child. You have migraines." My hubby sees an endocrinologist at Vanderbilt. His new doctor (his old one retired) is a researcher and may have a new treatment for his condition.

Anyone have a recommendation for a Rheumatologist that's familiar with lupus? Mine seems clueless on what to do. Doesn't have to be in the Mt Juliet area.
Thanks!
