I loved Julie Hendrix, who my OB got me into see after a big snafu with Dr. Andrea Hayes. I saw Dr. Hendrix for a few years. She was a solo practitioner, but now is with Heritage Medical. I (big mistake) let my PCP take over things for several years. Dr. Hendrix isn't taking new patients, and I wasn't able to get back into her practice and now see Dr. Rodney Snow. He's very thorough and explains things well, drawing pictures all over the windows and wall to show you what he's saying. I had to fight my PCP for a referral because she kept saying my labs were "normal." Dr. Snow listened to ME and paid attention to my symptoms, tweaking meds based on that as well, not just "lab normals." I decided the day I met Dr. Snow to ditch my PCP, and keep the endocrinologist who listened to me. Within a week of my first visit, I felt better than I had in a year! I highly recommend him!
Looking for recommendations for an amazing, innovative, compassionate endocrinologist that will not treat me like a statistic or tell me that my numbers are “normal”...

With referrals it is the Insurnace co to decide if they will cover your visit to a specialist. It is also the specialist who wants to know what is going on and why you need to see them before they will schedule you. It’s a step by step process that sometimes isn’t fun and convenient but that’s how they do it
