Help. My daughter is 15 and she has major acne. I feel we have tried everything. What does the good people of Lewisville use or recommend? Any dermatologist in the group?

Rodan & Fields/Proactiv may be your answer. It is pricey it does seem to work for a lot of people. https://www.proactiv.com/
Julie M. replied:
They now sell Differin Gel over the counter at CVS. It used to be prescription and was what I used when growing up with acne. It helps. I have found that drinking a lot of water helps as well and staying away from fried and greasy foods (although it is hard sometimes). Let her know that she is not alone:) I still have trouble with acne from time to time.

I do not sell Rodan and Fields but I use it and it is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it. They have an acne line.

I used to see Dr. Todd Plott. He has an office in Coppell on Denton Tap. I like him because he's aggressive but not too much. And he likes his "power tools" (as he calls them), so he can give you some instant results in addition.

Def get her into a derm. The one who helped me out the most was Dr Turner. My skin has never looked so good. I used prescription products until I got pregnant so I haven't been treated in a while. http://www.dermofficedallas.com/ I currently go to United Dermatlogy Associates in FloMo. Not being treated for my skin but I really like this office as well. https://unitedderm.com/ Also, regular facials (microdermabrasion) is great for acne! I have been going to ModFacial Bar for those. Dr Turner also has a membership as well but since it's not in the area it can be a pain driving there so ModFacial bar is a great alternative!

Grace Moore, believe it or not.... I suffer from tons of skin issues from acne to random rash like irritation. I have discovered trying Salt scrubs, and Mr. Teal's Soap... along with trying different face washes... When I get Acne... Shilah C. replied:
As far as topical treatments go, the Rodan + Fields Unblemish is amazing. I’ve always suffered from really bad hormonal acne and it really treats the symptoms. That being said, the problem is most likely hormonal (those things always cause the worst acne), and she should probably be treated for imbalances. If the ObGyn can’t prescribe something on their end, perhaps a dermatologist has better options.

We tried birth control and it did not help at all. Went to Dr. Amy Puryear at Center for Dermatology in Flower Mound. She put her on Acutane for 6 months and all acne is clear.
Melanie F. replied:
When I first moved to Texas almost 30 years ago, both my daughter and I broke out with severe acne. We were given Glytone for our facial scrub and recommended to use only neutrogena cosmetics. Glytone can be found on dermstore.com and I still use it today and I'm almost 60 and have beautiful clean skin with no scarring a. little bit goes a long way. The diet does play s huge roll in your skin. One symptom of glutten intolerance is acne like small bumps. Try taking glutten out of your diet for awhile. Whatever you choose, keep in mind that acne forms under the skin 4-6 weeks before it surfaces so give it some time whatever regimen you choose.

A product called mountain magic lotion. I bought this for my Daughter in law for a really bad case of cystic acne and within 3 weeks it was totally gone. It kills the bacteria that is beneath the skin and that clears it up. You do have to use it morning and night. I think it is a miracle in a bottle. The 4 oz size is $20.00 and the 8 oz size is $35.00 plus shipping. The website is www.mountainmagichealth.com. I hope this helps you to help her.

18 and Under MD hands down on the doc for your kiddos. Dr. Naylor is awesome, very brisk but super friendly. We love her whole staff. The office has a "well" entrance and a "sick" entrance to keep kiddos separated and we have never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. They're open reasonable hours and partnered with the children's after-hours clinic close by which is nice. Cannot recommend them highly enough. For that matter highly recommend the clinic too for holidays/weekends. Staff has always been friendly and as quick as possible.

Dr. Lyde (located in Old Town)took the time to look at each area of possible concern and she thoroughly answered all of my questions.
