Registration procedure Child born in Québec Parents who are residents of Québec or are registered for the plan being in Québec for a temporary stay and whose child is born in Québec don't have to register their child with the Régie themselves. All they need to do is register their child with the Directeur de l'état civilThis link will open in a new window., using the form obtained form the hospital or given to them by the midwife. The information needed for registering the child for the Health Insurance Plan and, where applicable, for the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan will be sent to the Régie automatically. Child born outside Québec The following information is for parents of a child born outside Québec who are in one of the following situations: they are residents of Québec (their domicile is in Québec); they are registered for the Health Insurance Plan being in Québec for a temporary stay. Step 1: Fill out the registration form First, you need to obtain the registration form from the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec. You cannot register a child online. You must call the Régie or visit an office of the Régie during office hours to obtain a registration form. If you call, the Régie recommends that you have the child's proof-of-identity documents handy. If you come to an office of the Régie, you can submit the child's application for registration at the office, as long as you have all the required documents with you. Fill out the registration form carefully. Be sure to sign it and to provide all required information. Step 2: Attach the required proof-of-identity documents Attach to the registration form the documents attesting to the child's status. After duplicating them, the Régie will return any original documents to you within 30 days, but you won't receive them at the same time as your Health Insurance Card. Instead of an original document, you may submit a certified true copy Certified true copy A copy of an original document that is certified true by a competent authority. Not just a photocopy. Only certified true copies from the organization that issued the original document are accepted by the Régie de l'assurance maladie. from the issuing organization. If you are a Canadian citizen Attach to the form the original of one of the following documents: birth certificate; Canadian Citizenship Card or Certificate of Canadian Citizenship; Canadian passport. If you are an Indian recognized by the Canadian Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Attach to the form the original of the Indian status certificate issued by the Canadian Department of Indian and Northern Affairs and the original of the Birth Certificate. If you are a foreign national Attach to the form the originals of documents issued by the Canadian and Québec immigration authorities. If you are registered for the plan as being in Québec for a temporary stay, only the document issued by the Canadian immigration authorities is required for registering your child. Step 3: Provide the Régie with the documents You must mail the registration form and the required documents to the Régie or drop them off at one of the Régie's offices. N.B.: You may be eligible for the Child Assistance measure of the Régie des rentes du Québec (RRQ). If so, you must register with the RRQ to receive your payments. In the west island I see dr mona sorial (514) 459-3433 brunswick and st johns... she is I beleive the only one that takes new patients. Might need a ref from ur gp or gyno.

Dr Sauriol might be taking new patients, but she's uber condescending, I have difficulty believing she'll listen to the parents, she's my LOs pediatrician and never listens to what I say and tends to treat me like an idiot (though she's nicer when I wear office clothes)

I just saw Dr. Lubkiewicz at Centre Medical des Sources and he was so sweet and gentle. He's an older man and I think he was a paediatrician in hospitals for a long time and just opened a practice in the west island. Mark that Clinic has relocated to Brunswick Medical Center and they are not taking new patients. This is where our pediatrician is. The clsc would have a list of pediatricians accepting new patients.

Highly recommend Chiropractic treatment for Acid Reflux. Dr. Pfeifler at Epic Lifestyle Chiropractic has had success with acid reflux in new borns! He's gentle and works great with kids.

My, almost 14 month old, son had reflux as a baby and he sees Dr Votruba at 192 nd & Dodge- she was really helpful with diagnosing and helping us control his until he grew out of it.

No... but I was very sad when I called tiny tots for an appointment with Dr Gupta and tgwy told me she retired! She was a great Dr too.

Elen, I know what you mean... I was going to replace my pediatrician with Gupta until I found a new one... but I was shocked to find out that she retired and moved back to India. My pediatrician was Dr. Kovacs she was as good as Gupta... old school that left no stone unturned.

Try Club Tiny Tots in Decarie Square. They have a minimal charge per visit $10, but they are quicker than most offices and have really good pediatric physicians. They have same day sick appts and walk in hours. I take my daughter to Dr. Soloman, not sure if she is still taking patients or not. Also, they aren't forced to close when they reach a "patient quota." They are run by the same Dr from Tiny Tots in DDO. www.clubtinytots.ca Good luck!

Dr Murray Katz! He follows my children and he was mine and my fiancé's doctor when we were children as well. He's very nice and caring and you can see he loves his job! He has a sound machine that when he checks the kids bellies it makes a frog noise lol

The head of Montreal Children's Emergency at the new Glen MUHC campus, DR. Harley Eisman, has his office at the Children's Care Centre on Pierrefonds Blvd., next to the new Police Station and the sports centre arenas. Any of the paediatricians there are excellent, and if you have an emergency, they have a drop in clinic without appt. for their registered patients running during office and evening hours with one of the paediatricians doing double duty, office appts and emerg., so your child has available care whether your doctor is in or not. All the paediatricians there also work at the hospital.Terrific all around care. Saves you from running to the emerg with your child if have fever, crying, not eating,..this paediatric office takes care of your baby and kids until 18 years of age.

Try Tiny Tots for your kids. We have Dr. Finkelberg there, and I like her a lot. Register yourself and your wife asap on the registry as Crystal posted. Took me 8 years and I got one 3 months ago. Luckily I was still covered because before I moved away from province, I had been followed by a specialist, so when I returned, I went to her and she has referred me to other dr's as needed in the meantime.

For the pediatrician - you can try Agoo clinic in Laval. Our kids see Dr. Da Costa. I am not sure if he is still taking new patients - but there may be other peds there that are. It's worth the trek - we bring our kids there from St-Lazare!

tiny tots - i see Dr. Elbaz they were taking new patients. make sure you are all on the list at CSLC because they actually tke the people off of that list. My bf got one within 6 months

Dr Rossy is really a good pediatrician, he's quick and to the point and you never wait long in waiting room. Also it's really easy to get an emergency visit with him too weekdays and weekends.(I've had a few:D)
