Anybody know of a family doctor (general medicine) that's accepting new patients?

Me and my wife are moving back to Montreal at the end of the month. Would u guys have any recommendations for a family doctor taking patients preferably in vaudruiel...
Isabelle A. replied:
Welcome back Frank!:) The best way to get a family dr is to get someone you know who has one to hook you up. A client can more easily convince their dr to let in their relative or friend than the receptionist / medical secretary.
Jamie M. replied:
GMF Stillview in west island take new patients, but you still have to register via CLSC with a preference stated on the form.
Jamie M. replied:
Frank Bouchard You can get a hard copy of the "Registration Form - Referral Centre for clients without a Family Doctor" from GMF Stillview or CLSC... Or email gaco.odi@ssss.gouv.qc.ca and ask for the form. Our Family is with Dr Dixit at GMF Stillview, he is amazing.

I just saw you can now do it online... https://www.csssouestdelile.qc.ca/en/liens-rapides/looking-for-a-family-doctor/

Go to local clsc and put your name on the list, Seems to take about two years to get a doc. It works

Try these guys http://lacitemedicale.com/ My doctor is based at their clinic in the Transat building off Parc and Pins, at 300 rue Léo Pariseau. You may have to go a few times before they take you as a regular patient since they're used to walk-ins, but all the doctors there are really good (and perfectly bilingual).

Here is a good list of clinics downtown that are willing to see you. You can always call to see if they are accepting. PM me and I will tell you of a place where I found a new family doctor recently https://www.mcgill.ca/studenthealth/see-doctor/offcampus

The pain staking task of trying to find a pediatrician for my kids 3, 5, and 7, and a family doctor for me and my wife in the West Island or anywhere (beggars can't be...
Try Tiny Tots for your kids. We have Dr. Finkelberg there, and I like her a lot. Register yourself and your wife asap on the registry as Crystal posted. Took me 8 years and I got one 3 months ago. Luckily I was still covered because before I moved away from province, I had been followed by a specialist, so when I returned, I went to her and she has referred me to other dr's as needed in the meantime.
Diana L. replied:
For the pediatrician - you can try Agoo clinic in Laval. Our kids see Dr. Da Costa. I am not sure if he is still taking new patients - but there may be other peds there that are. It's worth the trek - we bring our kids there from St-Lazare!

Can anyone refer a family doctor. Preferably a woman .
Maria M. replied:
First and foremost you need a referral. See your nearest walk-in clinic and they can give you one. After that, call Medic Elle(Downtown) and ask for a family doctor. They are currently taking new patients without a long wait, or no wait at all. I hope this helps you!
