It's too bad that the mass shooter in Orlando was killed. Over 50 LGBTQ people killed in a hate crime at a gay club last night. I'd have much preferred to know he could...

Jody Heffernan, this is a post from the owner and host of www.blasttheradio.com, John Mielke, who has a HUGE local and since internet radio, international fan base. Maybe you can team up and brainstorm how to make this happen? "A nightclub in Paris. A nightclub in Orlando. To my club dj friends and nightclub owners, let's stand up to hate! Let's use our PA systems to be heard loudly... I propose a 'Pulse Party'... A massive event at nightclubs around the world to celebrate what every nightclub celebrates every time it opens its doors; happiness. Pulse Party. There's my pitch. Now... Who is willing to take this and run with it"

Centretown Comunity Health Centre is one of our local health care leaders as well and does a lot with LGBTQ, whether health care, counselling, support, advocacy and social needs. CHCs are non-profit and get little to no funding for these issues (we continue to advocate)...Simone, Executive Director, would be a good contact.

Having lived in Orlando and still having friends there (a few were at the club last night; they are safe) it would be great if you would like to donate directly to those affected by the shooting. A local LGBT organization in Orlando has started a GoFundMe campaign to help with hospital costs of those wounded. https://www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund

He can call your local MP or even one of the town council members. The mayor and most council members are very happy to help, and it is good to get to know them before finishing the program! You can find all that info on the township office website: http://ottawa.ca/en/city-council

It's a Helpline for people who have a hearing loss or deaf are facing crisis. Just like there are tons of helpline for people who can hear like suicide help, crisis help line. There are none for deaf people or hard of hearing. We already have board of directors and team but we need to know how to apply for charitable number and follow the government rules and regulations. We are hoping to launch and ready in January or February 2017. Our non profit organization would be called: Deaf Skype Ministry where Deaf and HOH can contact us through Skype, text and email for help.
