If you want something custom, you need to be ready to pay a fortune. Skills, tools, materials, shop space, delivery - that stuff doesn't come cheap. For something of the style you're looking for, kijiji is probably your best best.

They make most of their stuff custom, a little expensive but very good quality! http://polancohomedecor.com/

I recently stumbled upon [Simply Wood](http://www.simplywood.com/) here in the east end. Family-owned business for decades; they apparently specialize in custom orders.

Are you sure they won't deliver? I've had furniture delivered from Toronto (http://www.woodcraft.ca/). Lots of trucking firms will do that. http://www.afterharvest.com/ is a local option.

Are you referring to a console (a cabinet for housing your turntable and possibly bookshelf speakers)? Or a box for records like the type gonzos makes? Or an audio rack? Edit: Also, call [Hammer Craft Design](www.hammercraftdesign.com) for a quote. If you're sticking to local, I'd give them a call.

I hacked a kallax unit from ikea. It was rather easy. If I knew how to add a picture I would.
