Hi ladies! Are there any dermatologists in this wonderful group? Or can anyone recommend a fantabulous derm? Thanks!
Eileen M. replied:
Hi Taylor, I was blessed with sensitive skin and was battling rosacea for a number of years. I finally saw Dr. Laughlin at Laser Derm and my skin literally cleared up within in a week using her prescription. She also didn't push any expensive creams or services. I believe her clinic is VERY busy however so you would want to contact her asap to book an appointment as it could take months. http://laserderm.ca/
Tammy S. replied:
Clarité Skin and Medical Esthetics (Dr. Maryanne Rice) is excellent! I know she does miracles with rosacea and she eliminated my rosacea. She does everything and does it well. They're on Earl Armstrong Drive. in Riverside South.
Jackie B. replied:
There's Dr. Pratt who's really good. Her office is at the civic but you have to get your Dr. To refer you to her
Taylor S. replied:
Eileen Moore usually the cysts come with other minor acne breakouts on the rest of my face, related to my cycle. They do go away, it just takes much longer than I'd like (they are painful after all!). I'll have to look into a prescription!
Philomena B. replied:
Taylor Stokes i've sent several of my spa clients to dr maryanne rice at clarity http://www.claritelaser.ca/drRice.html & they've had fab results. cause of rosacea not fully understood, but well known what exacerbates it - lots helpful advice here www.rosacea.org. if you haven't been assessed, then it's best to know what you have, as cysts as you describe could be rosacea. rosacea can also affect the eyes - ocular rosacea

I am wondering if anyone could recommend a Dermatologist who does not require a referral? Thank you!:)
Catherine L. replied:
Linda Brownrigg is the expert on this

Thank you Catherine Landry. Most Dermatologist do require a referral from a GP, however Dr Karen Laughlin from Laserderm on Carling is a Dermatologist with an interest in Laser Treatments. I do believe that you can see her without a referral, however your consultation might not be covered by OHIP. Here is her web site: http://laserderm.ca

There is one in Toronto where you need a referral, but can go right away( no long wait times, not sure if Toronto is an option). Dr. Singh at Avant Derm
Can anyone recommend a dermatologist preferably in the altavista area?
Merle H. replied:
My daughter sees Dr. Pierscianowski. I really like him, he has been doing this a long time. His office moved to The Perley Hospital. It's very easy to get to his office, but you do pay $6.00 to park.
Hey ladies, my skin is really acting up..bad eczema..does anyone know of a good dermatologist?
Kate H. replied:
I see Dr. Jennifer Beeker on Riverside Dr. She's the first doctor (dermatologist and otherwise) who has been taking the time to help me figure out what's causing my eczema and to provide solutions. In addition to new prescriptions, she's booked me in for a comprehensive allergy test. There is no shortage of lotions and potions that people will suggest, but everyone is different and you need to find what works for you. Dr. Beeker gave me a shortlist of products to use, my fave being the Cliniderm lotion line (available at Shoppers). It's really rich and not at all irritating. She had me stop using the all-natural products, such as coconut oil, because if eczema is allergy-based then the natural products could be making it worse. She suggested creams like Glysomed that are synthetic and will create a barrier for your skin.
Diane L. replied:
I can't recommend my homeopaths enough - they pretty much cured my son's eczema and although they are now out East they used to be in Ottawa, they work with clients around the world www.arcanum.ca
