Looking for recommendations for a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon for a second opinion on OCD Lesions in the knee. We currently see Dr. Bosch.
Jennifer P. replied:
We use Dr. Sisk at UPMC Sports Medicine for Kids and Adults. Best facility for ortho issues in my opinion and between all my kids we've had a lot. He is not a surgeon, but he will refer you to who is the best for what you need. There are a lot of quacks out there in ortho so be careful! http://www.upmc.com/Services/sports-medicine/Pages/default.aspx

Hey Patty, Jake had his knee done last Nov. and we seen Dr. Grudziak from Children's. He was good. Another Dr. in that same group is Dr. Dene, I think that's how it's spelled. Anyway both very good.
Mary M. replied:
Dr Brian Jewell from Tri-State Ortho. Actually part of UPMC. Friend loved him. He's a knee specialist.

Can anyone recommend an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in neck/spine problems?
Ilana S. replied:
Yram Groff is awesome. If he doesn't specialize in neck/spine, he can recommend someone excellent to you.
Toni L. replied:
Yram Groff....i also use him and he is fantastic,,,but I believe he does not do that area
Aviva F. replied:
Dr. David Stone, UPMC
Adam R. replied:
Yram Groff is a good orthopedic surgeon, but he doesn't do spine. David Stone is a good sports medicine physician, but he is not a surgeon at all. I suggest looking into Jon Levy, an orthopedist at Greater Pittsburgh Orthopedic Associates who specializes in spine surgery. We send pretty much all of our patients in our practice with spine issues to Jon Levy.

Joseph Maroon is neurosurgeon for the Steelers - excellent rep.. I got a recommendation for him from my fav neurologist. (Both neurosurgeons and orthopedists do back surgery)
