I probably know a /lot/ less than you, but I am hoping to move there soon too. Just need money/job/hope.

It's pretty dry, if you can get on before, you'll be a lot better off. If you're on FL, there is a PDX Trans group with a bunch of good info. There is a really cheap laser place downtown too. Search on here or bug me and I'll look it up for you.

The place is called Day Medical Salon in the LLoyd center. 5 face treatments, which should be about enough to get rid of all or the vast majority of my facial hair is $399. Just thought I would share this resource as most of the tg people I know are on a budget. They are actual laser and not that IPL shit. They're trans friendly and experienced - many people have had good luck with them. I have been pleased with the team approach used by the doctors at OHSU. I go to the Digestive Health Center and the doctors meet regularly to discuss their patients and come up with diagnosis and treatment plans. I work with a nutritionist (who is also a surgeon) and his dietician along with my gastroenterologist and actual surgeon. When I was in the hospital with problems of hydration from my short bowel (caused by crown's surgery when I had a major flare before being sent to OHSU), they worked with dermatology to help me with skin problems from some gastrointestinal issues I had in the past. They are amazing and work with pharmacists and pull in anyone for any issue I may have.

I have hashimotos and I had to find a naturopath my reg doc knew nothing about natural thyroid and wasn't to enthusiastic about it. She's also covered by my insurance and I don't know why. Dr. Jennifer is great-www.ajafamilyhealth.com I have hashimoto's and found her to be most helpful. She takes insurance.

I also have Celiac and Hashis. I personally did terrible on NDT. But then again I was Celiac and didn't know it the majority of time I was on NDT. So who knows! Dr. Amy Bruner (OBGYN at Synergy Womens in NW Portland) will prescribe NDT, but I was m ore knowledgeable about the disease then her. However, she's great about running any blood work and letting me try whatever treatment I'd like. I just recently saw Dr. Fawn Wolf (Endo at Portland Endocrinology Diabetes Clinic at Good Sam location). She was nice and listened well but really didn't offer up anything that I didn't already know. I didn't get the impression she was fan of NDT though she didn't say that specifically. She did mention I may do better just adding Cytomel IF I need T3. They did blood work right in their office which is a huge plus, but its going on 3 weeks now and I still haven't gotten the results which is really annoying. So now I have to call asking for them!

Dr. Valerie Netherland in Hillsboro. Hillsboro Naturopathic Clinic. I was changed to Natur-Throid as it is suppose to be less fillers and more stable of a compound.

I have hashimotos and have been helped greatly with healing by dr. Rachel Meredith. She is an ND at Mandela Wellness. I am on Naturthroid and it's been great. Also, not only is gluten a huge issue for the thyroid but dairy as well. And often grains in general aren't tolerated well. I hope you get well soon!

Susan Allen at Triangolo clinic! She is a ND specialist in Thyroid disorders, also covered but many insurances. She is super awesome!

Oh and James Beard is my Endocrinologist at Good Samaritan hospital, but my experience on trying to get ahold of let alone make an appointment with any endocrinologist in this city was a huge challenge and took me 4-6 weeks to even get someone on the phone at multiple clinics. I had to beg the help of my primary care physician to call for me. Then I went into that particular office and sat there till someone would schedule an appointment for me. There are 6 endos in that office as well. Susan was much easier to get in with but its best to email than to leave a phone message.

I see Dr. Robyn Kutka, an ND, after struggling with Hashimotos for a long time with little relief from Endocrinologists. She is knowledgeable, kind, caring and willing to listen intently to formulate a plan that is workable for you, as well as therapeutic. She has been instrumental in figuring out my thyroid and getting it stabilized.

Dr Rachel Fischer at UWS is a functional medicine doctor and treats Hashimotos. I did a preceptorship under her and recommend her.

Nancy Curosh's office has the rudest receptionists in the universe! Is she really worth it? They hung up on me and made racial slurs about Obama.

Just so you have it we loved Dr. Selva she's at Emmanuel and saw Logan for 6 yrs.

I love Dr Dianna Negreanu. She's at the Endocrine Clinic in the offices at Glisan Prov.
