Scott Grewe is really good. Shoulders/elbows. His office is over by the Tigard Home Depot. Not sure for facial. Ask Bonnie to ask Jeff Sessions for facial rec. Best of wishes to her and you. So sorry!
Amanda B. replied:
How terrifying! I'm sending my best vibes for her, and a quick recovery. I hope she's able to get some rest.. We refer to Northwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (nw-oms.com), as do many, many dentists in the area--they have a great reputation for high quality work, and they have multiple locations, therefore more availability.

Nancy Z. replied:
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I work in the same office as Jim Chestnutt at Gabriel park family medicine and sports clinic. If he is not available then Ryan Petering or Melissa Novak (also a runner) are good too. 503-494-9992. I hope you feel better soon
Hadas C. replied:
Dr. Diaz through providence is sports doc and GP he is the doc to the Timbers at the games as well.
Sarah S. replied:
Chronic compartment syndrome needs RICE like all other sports injuries. You can see a sports medicine ortho like Jim Chestnutt or Nels Carlson.
Rich K. replied:
Matt Walsh - pt at rebound and some new place on Hawthorne. Injured my calf two weeks before Boston. He's the only reason I finished the race. He's worked with some Nike elites, too
Evan C. replied:
I have seen Dr. Pearce at Rebound twice and he seemed to be a good doctor.
Amanda U. replied:
We represent a lot if pedestrians & cyclists (I work in a law firm), and James Chesnut is able to help our clients who have soft tissue I injuries such as yours. He's at OHSU.
Evička V. replied:
I'd say Dr. Howell at Portland Integrated Health and Sports Medicine. As a runner himself he can give you some great advise and diagnosis for running connected injuries.
Richard L. replied:
Lots of good options, Jeff. From what I know, I'd start with someone like Melissa or Dr. Howell, or Back in Motion, who can get you in quickly. Not that it's an emergency, but it's one of those things that tends to come back on you endlessly if you try to wait it out. There are other more common things that do that, too, btw, especially in the calf (good old fashioned knots or what Noakes calls "chronic muscle tears"), so I wouldn't put too much stake yet in the diagnosis you've been given, other than as a possibility to consider.
Looking for a good orthopedist in Portland Metro area. Preferably someone with sports injury experience. This ankle isn't getting better like it should, need an...
Dennis Crawford. OHSU. I believe he still does ankles, but is a sports-ortho guy & has top-shelf partners.
Catherine W. replied:
Portland Monthly just came out with their top docs and Derek Lamprecht of Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center of Oregon was on there. There were also 4 from OHSU (Dr's Alex Ching, Darin Friess, Kathryn Schabel, and Jung Yoo), and Paul Puziss of Puziss Orthopedics (loved the name...).The other 5 were in the Kaiser family.
Peter K. replied:
Dr Wilson at Rebound has kept me going for a long time, but I don't know if he has retired or not. Oddly, I have only had to see hand specialists in the last decade. Wilson helped me from age 14 until about 30
Rich K. replied:
If you want to go to a pt first - and in my experience, they're often quicker to figure out motion related injuries - try Matt Walsh at Rebound. Wouldn't have been able to finish Boston without him

Laura S. replied:
Hey Allison! FB wouldn't let Lori comment on your page because you're not friends on here, but she said she went to Dr. Edelson and she liked him a lot - here is the link: http://sportsmedicineoregon.com/

Dr. Robert Hart at OHSU did Steve's back about 5 years ago. We would recommend him.

It's (luckily) not so bad that I had to have emergency surgery. We are at the beach and they didn't have any orthopedics at The ER, so waiting til we get home.

I wish I did. When my knees were that bad I used to use patches at night called I think Salon Paus or something like that. Do heat or ice help? Maybe a heating pad?
Connie E. replied:
Aflac? Diclofenac is a favorite prescription anti inflammitory I was prescribed once. Non narcotic. Old drug, kinda cheap. My acupuncturist is Tara McHenry, taramchenry@gmail, (503) 997-7292. She has worked a LOT on my foot issues and fixed me up good when I flew off the ATV. Russell St & MLK.
I went to Mark Colville at Rebound Orthopedics for both of my shoulders. I thought he was great. He's upper extremities though. Depends on the injury site. I can't remember what else he does. Rebound is the practice that takes care of all of Portland's sports teams.
Portland.. Anyone know of a good sports medicine orthopedist?
Samuel H. replied:
Well, I don't use an orthopedist. I use a sports clinic chiropractor who specializes in awesome. I only go to him when I have blown anything, lowerback, torn left calf muscle, torn lower right leg, regular body maintenance. Back in Motion Sports Injury Clinic, and his name is Dr. Ted Forcum. I go because of the Graston he performs to get the soft tissues working properly. I refer EVERYone to him.
My orthopedist suggested that I use an inversion table to help relieve pressure on my spine/relieve pain. Does anyone have one that they are not using?
Also, I'm on...
