My PDX peeps! Who can recommend a great eye doctor? Preferably an MD - ophthalmologist as opposed to optometrist (though I'm open to those referrals, too). THX!
Not sure how far you want to travel or what you need a consult for, but I just had Lasik surgery by this doctor - an amazing, very full service clinic http://www.centerforsight.net/LASIK/LASIK-by-Lahners.cfm

I just went to Luna's eye doctor here in Multnomah Village. LOVED HIM! "Multnomah Vision Clinic."

Dr. Grieve downtown has been great over the last 14 years helping me with some fairly serious eye issues.
Monica G. replied:
Dr. AAZY AABY absolutely...and yes, he is a DR too...my daughter has been with him since she was 3...and she's 12 now...he's a great Dr. He has 2 offices.
John R. replied:
Elizabeth Purvis, this is my DR in Vancouver. She also did the surgery on my cataracts last year. She is very sweet and cares a lot about her patients.
Christy A. replied:
I can but she's in Hillsboro! Baseline Vision Clinic. Dr Joan Ploem Miller. The best eye doctor I've ever gone to. Been seeing her now since 1995.

Ophthalmologist recommendations? Anyone have an ophthalmologist they like?
BundleOfHiss replied:
Maybe the Casey Eye Institute up at OHSU?
CalamityJaneDoe replied:
You should probably edit in where you want them to be located. I've been going to my eye doctor for almost 10 years and think he's great. Very good with kids too. My credentials - have shitty eyes and have worn glasses for almost 40 years. http://acuityvisioncenter.com/ Dr. An But he's WAY out in the boonies - 145 th and Division.
CthuluCatSnacks replied:
Shitty Eyes here. I just started going to Dr. Gebhardt on Division. Good experience over all, not the best selection on frames but the appt. went well and I feel like she did a good job. Would definitely recommend over Alberta Eye Care. That being said, my main MO is to go somewhere close by. Edit: Sorry, Gebhardt is an Optometrist, not Ophthalmologist.

my wife had a serious eye condition due to auto-immune complications and saw someone who is the considered the best in town for iritis, but I imagine is a great overall ophthalmologist, she likes her a lot. Kristen Biggee
PDX_Stan replied:
I would highly recommend Dr Paul Stromberg, MD, Ophthalmologist. He is with Eye Health NW, (503) 652-2411 They take (among others) CareOregon. He is a DR who is passionate about good vision. Tell him Stan sent you. (he lasered my eyes many times)
Kok-Willy-Wong replied:
Whatever you do, avoid that Eye Group one at 200 SW Market. I had a horrible experience.
Bonerdave replied:
Leah reznick at OHSU. Had surgery there and she was amazing. PM me for info.
Does anyone know an eye doctor who will see patients on a Sunday?
Sara L. replied:
Hillsboro eye clinic deals with that sort of thing… not sure about sunday appointments but their emergency number is (503) 640-3708 that is where Eric went in high school when he got a metal shard in his eye from a grinder.
Debbie W. replied:

Amy G. replied:
Vision Works in Washington square or tanasbourne are open til 3 or 4. They have an eye doctor.

Jill I thought I learned my lesson about 7 years ago at Eric Logues house. I think I need to buy enough pairs so there are no excuses. Have them laying everywhere for easy access. It's worked for hearing protection.
My vision has progressively been getting worse for the past few years, but the problem has recently accelerated and I need an eye doctor. I've never had an eye doctor,...
Paul V. replied:
Dr. Eric Freedle, NW Optometric503-639-8844. He's been my eye doc for 25 yrs, I've referred dozens of patients to him and have never had anyone be less than 200% pleased with the outcome. He's a great eye doc, personable and very pleasant person to work with, and his staff is equally accomplished.
Laurie B. replied:
EyeHealth Northwest (I go to the NW location - 1955 NW Northrup). I've been going there for years. They are great. I see Dr. Kerry Hagen. He did my LASIK surgery 13 years ago. I highly recommend him and the clinic in general.
Mary C. replied:
Robin call Jim anytime. EyeHealth NW Dr. Rob Bentley is superb as well.

I go to Dr. Harris in Beaverton...but he has a Tigard location as well. He is the eye doctor for the Timbers so you might even see some hottie soccer players in the office while you're there!!!:)
Any recommendations on good ophthalmologists? I am looking for a new eye doctor. While searching I found a doctor whose name was Aazy A. Aaby! Hmmm....
Ashley F. replied:
Yes, that doctor I'm pretty sure is from Eye Health NW, which is where I go. I really like my doctor there. Dr. Saulson. They have several locations. I've been to the Gresham and 108 th and Stark locations.
Nicki G. replied:
Dr. Thomas Barreto at Eyes on Broadway (NE Broadway and 23 rd). He is an Optometrist though. If you go tell him you know us and my brother too!!
