Hey Everyone: My 10 month old son is tongue-tied and my wife and I are contemplating having an ENT perform a Frenotomy. We are looking for any references to a good ENT...
Molly M. replied:
Have to echo the recommendations for Dr. Ferguson. He did a frenectomy (and tubes) on two of my boys. Different ages and both excellent experiences.
Jodi N. replied:
My daughter had it done at 1 week old. Dr. Pugh at Carolina ENT performed it. I was able to hold her the entire time, she answered all my questions and I never felt rushed. She was wonderful. It truly is worse for the parents then the baby. Good luck to you!!
Kelli F. replied:

Courtney M. replied:
Dr heffron at Carolina ENT clipped my daughter at 11 weeks (in August of this year). He's great. We just went back to see him for another issue, and he checked to make sure all was looking good. Good luck!
Tamara P. replied:
Dr. Fergeson (WakeMed North) is great surgeon.
Angela A. replied:
Check out UNC CH- Pediatrics ENT. Excellent team!!'
Susan W. replied:
This group was invaluable to me. It's also very helpful if you're trying to find a practitioner that recognizes what a submucosal is and its effect on the gut, speech, and breastfeeding and want to avoid sedation. Two years ago there were few resources for submucosal ties, but there's much more now. We saw Dr. Pugh and she said he didn't have a tongue tie. A month later he had revision and the dentist said he had a very thick submucosal tie. https://www.facebook.com/groups/tonguetiebabies/

We absolutely love Dr. Ramakrishnan at Capitol ENT! They have office hours in Wake Forest on Wednesdays and are also in Raleigh. Fantastic experience with him and the whole staff, highly recommend!
Kimberly D. replied:
We have had both Dr Dorfman and Dr Bloedon do procedures on our daughters....both were fantastic.
Dana D. replied:
I second the Douglas Holmes recommendation - we had other issues with our daughter and to his credit after a consult he determined that he would perform one procedure, the other issue was so unique that he referred us to Dr. Buchman at UNC Hospitals at the Otolaryngology clinic. He described Dr. Buchman as a Specialist's specialist. Tough cases are sent to Buchman - he is training the next generation of ENT. Dr. Holmes will put your childs needs first and you will feel so comfortable with him and his staff.
Kimmie Y. replied:

Jess ReillyDr. Bloeden (and Dr. Dorfman) are leaving wake ENT - heading over to Rex so imagine they aren't taking new patients at the moment. Both Dr. Ferguson and Dr. Marshall (also with WakeMed physicians) are fabulous.
Pamela S. replied:
Dr Dorfman. I heard he's with wakefield ENT now but he's the BEST!
Katie C. replied:
Jess Reilly Not too sure - considering what's happening all over with physician practices I imagine it will be affiliated with Rex Hospital.
Michelle F. replied:
We have had a lot of experience w/ hearing issues. We started at Dorfman, found Dr Hulka (loved him), was referred to Dr McElveen in Raleigh. He has been so good to my daughter. You can pm me.
Katie C. replied:
Totally agree with Renee Garner BellI - was going to mention UNC but wasn't sure if you wanted to travel that far. I work with several pediatric ENT's at UNC that are phenomenal. I do anesthesia in the children's OR and have been so impressed with the UNC ENT group and the audiologists that work in collaboration.
Donna W. replied:
(919) 350-1630 it's at Wake Med North. My daughter is 10 and wears an aid. She's been going since birth. Dr. Dourfman and Dr. Fergerson are the ENT. The audiologist are on site too.
Kimberly F. replied:
We found Dr. Dorfman to be completely misinformed with our specific situation. He always seemed like he was in too much of a hurry to talk with us.

Wanda Ray Paylor, I agree with Doris Lempe... Dr. Price is excellent. He has been my mother's ENT for many years and she recommended him to me. He has treated my acid reflux for the past two years. His Garner office is located behind the Target at White Oak. Hope this helps.
Doris L. replied:
Wanda Ray Paylor..he was the one who ordered the biopsies...and told me that there were cancer cells and he referred me to Dr. Meredith at Cancer Center. He said if it was his wife or mother..he would send them to him. My doctor in Smithfield referred me to Dr.Price..he has a lot of respect from so many doctors. If you decide to go to him..tell him I said hello..and you will love his nurse, P.J. Good luck, Wanda.
