I would be happy to give you my professional opinion on the condition of your current machine (lots of times a good cleaning or a minor repair can get them back up to par). The main reasons to replace are excessively high amps to run, or unrepairable refrigerant leaks, besides that it's usually in the owners best interest to clean or repair what you have. If the compressor is operating at a normal amperage and the refrigerant is not leaking then all you should need is a thorough cleaning. Merrell AC 941-474-3455. Most honest company out there. AC was installed in this house in 1991. It is still running. We have been having them out twice a year to maintain the AC for the last 14 years and several companies told us it needed to be completely replaced when we first moved in. Merrell said it was fine and just needed regular maintenance checks. They were correct. They are also very affordable.
