Tourinus downtown. Brazilian barbeque all you can eat meat and a salad bar for about $50+drinks.

The Grandview! Epic views and amazing food with the new owners.

Evvia in Palo Alto is incredible for lamb and Pastaria and Market in Los Gatos is the best for pasta. Pastaria is definitely more casual though, I felt a little overdressed in a dress and heels.
BlueShellOP replied:
Nick's Next Door in Los Gatos! You might want to get a reservation for dinner, but the food there is amazing.

[La Foret](http://www.laforetrestaurant.com/dinner-menu/) is open again. The new owner promised to keep the old menu going so it should still be great!

The Rok Bistro in downtown Sunnyvale, it’s usually about $125 including tip for me and my fiancé, includes fondue, and there’s a nice gelato place across the street.

Does anyone know of any good Brazilian restaurants around here? I tried Yelp, google, etc. However, I'd rather get an answer from a redditor.

If you're looking for an acai bowl, Samba Rock is a good one. I like the Seu Jorge but mostly because it's named after Seu Jorge.

Cafe Brazil is pretty good, it is the best you will get in Santa Cruz
ImLyingToYouRightNow replied:
As far as Brazilian dinner goes, the closest, best place for that is Espiritus, buuut....it's in San Francisco. And its $50 a person. But its all-you-can-eat of the best meat you'll ever taste.
Anyone have suggestions for a yummy restaurant that serves gluten free/dairy free options on the westside?
Tana R. replied:
It might be too late, but they might want to keep this place in mind for future. I've been here before, it's all Organic and vegan. And I'm sure many gluten free options. But that's not why I first went there, I'm actually a meataterian, lol! But it's surprisingly really good. *(it's very "Santa Cruz" which always makes it interesting) http://cafegratitudesantacruz.com/

Cafe Limelight, downtown Santa Cruz!

Cafe Gratitude for sure! Best gluten free vegan restaurant in town. Malabar has dairy/gluten free options too and is very good.

Before the meeting on Thursday, we might visit the site www.thecrucible.org. They are doing something similar up in Oakland. The Crucible is a non-profit corp. and I don't know how much of their funding is from fees and what percentage is from donations. It might be useful to contact someone at The Crucible and see if they would talk to us about how they did it. Paul

Shadowbrook restaurant is my home away from home. Off-season specials almost every night, targeted to locals. www.shadowbrook-capitola.com One of their programs is their wintertime Community Tuesdays. On April 3, if you mention the Diversity Center, 1/3 of your check is donated to them, whether you have a burger and a Coke or a big fancy meal.
Ate there many times late at night in the early '70 s. Chicken fried steak and gravy. Burgers, milkshakes. One time Carl Betz, the actor who played Dr. Alex Stone on Donna Reed walked in. He was doing a play at Cabrillo.
