YES ... I have a lady friend, Ruthie ... that does alterations and IS THE BOMB!!! A Thimble Change in St. Charles. I went to her as a client, and we BECAME very good friends (as I WAS there so often). ... she's GREAT at freehand, and HAS done professional alternations too (for shows, etc.)!!!! One Price CD Cleaners - corner of Randall and Prairie. For shirts, pants skirts etc. everything is the same price. Good work and can get same day service. Saved us more than 30% VS the traditional dry cleaners in the area.

Thanks everyone. So, I decided to call a couple of these places. Here's the scoop, for future reference: CD One Price (Prairie/Randall): 1.49 men’s and women’s Marberry Cleaners: 2.80 (1.90 mens) They have an app too. Prices including delivery/pickup are 2.90/1.95. Man I spoke to was very nice and explained that they use a mannequin thing to press men’s shirts, and most women’s shirts don’t fit on it and so need more time to press. A-1 Cleaners (2400 E. Main St) - 4.75 (1.50 mens) Based on that, it seems like I could have gotten 2-3 shirts laundered for the price I paid. I think I will try CD and Marberry, since they're both close to me, and see who does the better job.

I've been a patron of Marberry's on Main Street (near St Charles History Museum) for years. I can't compare prices, but their service and quality has always been excellent. Manager Roberta is one of the nicest people around.
