Solid wood furniture is really hard to find. Especially if you are on a budget. If you are willing to drive, Darvin Furniture in Orland Park has an incredible selection and price range. I believe they are having a big sale this weekend (they have tent sales a few times a year)

Solid wood furniture will cost quite a bit more. Same for leather that isn't bonded. You are paying for the quality of the materials and also the workmanship. You can try outlets for the higher end stores in the area, such as Toms-Price, WES, and Crate and Barrel. Another option is to try resale shops. Room and Board has a floor sample sale every Jan. 1 st. Most of their furniture is solid wood and made in the USA.
