This may be a long shot. Any recommendations for someone who does oboe lessons? A lot of my searches bring up results for musical instruments besides oboe. TIA!

NIU has many folks who teach oboe in DeKalb, and out this way as well. Check out their external programming — search oboe lessons. http://www.niu.edu/extprograms/index.shtml

Jeff Ford. He works out of his home in Oswego area but he makes trips to some of the local music stores in the area. I highly recommend him. (630) 554-8723

You can drop off instruments at Full Staff Music in St. Charles (corner of 7 th Street and Main Street). They deliver to Roger's Music who does repairs in DeKalb. My husband and I are both instrumental music teachers and have been sending instruments to Roger for over 20 years.
