I'm only familiar with Dr Pepose in St Louis. But I believe his practice has several doctors and I'm not familiar with them all. You will need a LASIK consult first since not everyone is a candidate for surgery, let me know what they tell you. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

I went to TLC with Dr. Wexler (I heard he is no longer there though). Had PRK instead of LASIK due to the results of some of my pre-op testing. First eye had a little healing issue but both are totally fine and vision has never been better.

My sister got her's done at Pepose. It's pricey there but they stay up to date with the latest equipment and techniques.

I had LASIK done by Dr. Ullrich at Advanced Sight Center in Creve Coeur about 6 years ago. Went from thick glasses all the time to 20-15 vision and had zero complications. Best money I've ever spent particularly since I had a Groupon deal for around $1500-1800 for custom wavefront LASIK and all follow-up appoints on both eyes. I had been quoted $5500 and $3500 from two different places before that; so definitely shop around. I might not go to a brand new guy, but most of the places use the same equipment and have doctors with tens of thousands of procedures under their belt.

Dr. Joe Gira did mine through Clarkson Eyecare, even though he normally practices out of a private Ophthalmology group. I had the WaveFront procedure done in 2013 and still have perfect vision (I'm 33). It's not the cheapest, but they include the follow-ups and appointments and such in the cost, and the evaluation is free.

Dr. Pepose is the first in St. Louis including research into this technique. I had my eyes done in the late 90 s when he just had a little office on North Ballas in West County. So did my wife. We were both 20/200. Our eyes have not changed. Corrected to 20/20. We have gotten farsighted due to age but that's to be expected. We have had no issues whatsoever. I doubt he does the work himself now but I met a couple of doctors there who seemed pretty top notch. He will be more expensive but I would not shop price when it comes to your eyes.

Dr. Michael Korenfeld is my ophthalmologist and he does LASIK. I'm not a good candidate for the procedure, but I have had a good experience with him.

My ophthalmologist is retired now but he used Dr Pepos and highly recommended him even though my eye Dr had started doing them also. He said Dr Pepos had tons of experience and was one of the first in the area doing it. I think I spelled his name right. Good luck!

I have not had it but I go to Clarkson Eyecare in Edwardsville, if I were to have it done, that's where I would go! You should call them, they may have some kind of free consultation.
