Just an FYI, most (if not all gyms) have prohibitions against third party trainers conducting sessions in their gyms (both because of competition and liability), so you'll be limited to home visits or finding a trainer who is already associated with the gym and willing to do extra sessions on the outside (and this is usually also prohibited, so again a rarity to find).

Errick McAdams. The dude is motivation concentrate in a human shell. On top of that, he's knowledgeable and so damn nice. I worked out with him for a period of a couple months several years ago, and I still get motivational/advice texts every so often. I know he works all over the city, but don't know exactly if he works in Glover Park. I also know he's really popular, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was booked solid. Regardless, give him a call. He's great! http://www.empt.us/

[Danny T Fitness](https://www.thumbtack.com/-Washington-DC/service/2775237) is incredible! You can work out at the BETA Martial Arts Academy or he can come to you. Prices were super reasonable. Packages start at $400 for 4 sessions so $100/session and go down from there. The more sessions you purchase the cheaper it gets. I did 16 sessions for $1360 and it was so worth it. PM if you want his number.

Check into [Urban Athletic Club](https://www.urbanathletic.club/). Great, intimate fitness studio. They have locations in Georgetown, Glover, and Shaw. Their trainers do a fair amount of personal training on the side.

Just out of curiosity, how come you cant go to any of the many gyms in those areas and get personal training directly at a location? You might have better luck and it might be cheaper. I know Balance Gym has locations in G-town and Glover Park and I'm sure there has to be other options.

I know exactly who to go to, but he's here in Southern California. I did the squats and lunges despite the agony but it helped me to climb stairs and get up off the floor. The trainer here is at LAFittness, but I gave it a rest for awhile. Now I'm on Jenny Craig and I lost 6 inches since Feb 21 st. I see you on myfitnesspal.com. I'm just walking a 20 minute mile and gps'ing it on runtastic.com, and it's linked with myfitnesspal. I hate squats and lunges, but I'm afraid and I'm going to have to do those again sometime soon.

Emily M. replied:
Are you brushing it? (As a curly hair person, I'm guessing not, but I had to ask) Otherwise, I'd suggest putting in a bit of leave-in conditioner after towel-drying, then scrunching his hair a bunch (no combing/pulling/brushing). I have been using Abba Gentle Conditioner for years and love it -- very light scent, not sticky at all, not crunchy.
Megan S. replied:
Sam obviously doesn't have curly hair, but we take him to the same haircutter Chris and I go to on the Hill. She's good with kids -- or, at least Sam likes her. And she knows how to cut Chris' hair, which is super curly.
