Looking for a pediatrician and VBAC friendly dr and hospital referrals for moving back to Lawton. These dr's will have some big shoes to fill.
Who should I transfer...
Susan C. replied:
Dr. Jones at Southwestern is only one I have heard that might do VBAC. I had a friend that was supposed to do VBAC with him but she was having to go through a lot like getting paperwork and stuff but ended up moving to Tulsa before she delivered.
Susan C. replied:
Carly Caldwell you use Dr. Jones right and are planning a VBAC? Maybe you can help my friend that is moving here. Thanks
Amanda M. replied:
I used Dr Kern for both my kiddos. I couldn't say enough good things about him. And at every appt he brought an u/s machine in and did a bedside ultrasound to check on the baby.
Amber K. replied:
Dr Jones office has sonogram in his office. Also know of someone he was going to let do vbac. He was my dr when I had Riggs and I Loved him
Susan C. replied:
I love Dr. Gregory Joslin at memorial!

And I like your use of the "crunchy mom group" lol ! Message my friend Stacee Smiddy she's a womens health NP she's a good resource for helping you find a Dr who might VBAC

What kind of shoes are you looking for? I also have finicky feet and have found a few brands that generally work well. I'll then order those online like zappos with free shipping and returns so trying them on is (in theory) a temporary cost. The Shoe Barn in Newton is also fantastic.

There are two that I like very well. One is Capital Care - http://www.capitalcaring.org/thrift-store/ located in 7 Corners. It's for Capital Care Hospice. They sell nice things at very reasonable prices so that anyone can comfortably make good purchases there. I have shopped myself there and found some real treasures. Another option is The Second Chance Thrift Shop in Fairfax which directly benefits the Fairfax Humane Society. They, too, sell things at very reasonable prices making it shopper-friendly to all income levels. Just check their hours before venturing out there. Both are run by very nice folks.

I recently posed a similar question and someone suggested Friends of Guest House (http://www.friendsofguesthouse.org/) and I donated there. The folks who received them were very gracious.

I have large wide feet, and at this point I buy most often from Shoebuy.com and Zappos.com. I find it easier to put my size and width in first and then only browse shoes that are likely to fit. You do need to be organized enough to use the free return shipping, and there's a $7 restocking fee if you do a return for a refund (with Shoebuy, anyway), but it still works better for me than trying to find 11 wides in a retail store.
Jemma B. replied:
Shoe Barn in Newton on Washington Street has some wide shoes for women. I don't know about men, but I assume they have them, too. Not a huge selection, but at least you can try them on, unlike buying online.
