Chante Bergmann Dennis, Dr. Seeker is amazing and he deals with a lot of problem pregnancies. I had a history of pregnancy issues and my original obgyn did not have any solutions, so Dr. Seeker was recommended. Before we even made an apt., my husband talked with Seeker's nurse to be sure that he could help us. He and and his nurses stayed on top of any issues that might have occurred for both of my girls. I would really suggest calling their office and seeing if you could speak with his nurse to find out if they could help.

Hi! Need recommendations for a OBGYN that practices in Bastrop or Smithville.
Jamie T. replied:
Dr. Hagen does have a VERY dry personality and it shows through with his bedside manner.. BUT I was high risk and worked 12 hr days I couldn't go to Austin everytime. I must say I would call him like 3 to 4 times a month (I had a blood clot between Fetal sac and uterus- high risk) and he was always really nice to me and always got me in that day. So for that reason I can't really bad mouth him because he was good about that.Plus he did my C-section and did a really good job as far as I am concerned. But IF you can go to Austin I am sure there are DR'S with way better bedside manner. I didn't have any bad experiences with him but that was 2 1/2 yrs ago.

Dr. Montalvo gets my vote. She is amazing. I've been with her for about 6 years now.

Man I wish I would have posted before going to Dr. Hagen. I am currently going there and no one seems to care about your female issues. Very impersonal and come off rude. Plus he is never there. I am going to see how my visit goes on Thursday and if it is the same, I am switching. Any of you ladies have PCOS or something similar? Can you pm me?
Does anyone know of a good OB/GYN in Austin or a midwife that would be willing to do prenatal care and support a hospital birth?

Dr. Mary Mirto at St. David's on 32 nd.
Alyssa A. replied:
Dr Andrea Campaigne -- I will get her info.
Amy C. replied:
Consider the hospital as well as the dr. The doctor may well not be at the birth, anyhow! Friends and family members of mine have really liked Seton Southwest. Calmer, quieter, less pressure to hurry up and get the baby out. Hospitals like St David's (Central) can feel like baby factories. Hill Country OB is a group of women drs who work at Seton Southwest and would be on my list if I were looking.
Brenda M. replied:
My care at St. David's central for pre term labor and birth was exceptional. Largely in part to Dr. Mirto who was able to be at the birth. I don't know about other docs there. The nurses, pedis, and staff were kind and caring also. They all supported my decision for a drug free birth. I never once felt rushed or like I was in a factory. I have a friend who had a terrible experience at Seton SW, but like my experience, that was just one out of many.

We were really happy with Karen Swenson at Women Partner's in Health (34 th st.), although I'm not sure where they stand with Medicaid. Actually, all the doctors we dealt with at that practice were helpful and seemed to know their stuff.
Heather D. replied:
I liked Dr. Natasya Ikbal at Women Partners in Health. They have 2 midwives on staff, too.
