Dr. Craig Thomajon at Austin Foot and Ankle Specialists. I used to work in this field and know he practices at the top of the field in terms of new techniques, devices, etc. He is who I’d visit if I needed to - DPMs really range in quality and training and IMO he’s one of the best.

Doing stretches before you get out of bed/take the first step made a huge difference for me
I_I_I_I_ replied:
In addition to the suggestions of stretching, I used a sleeve/insert that helped me immensely without the cost of seeing a specialist or surgery. That being said it comes back from time to time but I still use the sleeve when that happens.

I had plantar fasciitis for over 2 yrs! it's so painful and constant. I finally had surgery and they had to cut it by 60% so much better now. I tried EVERYTHING. I know you asked for Austin but my doc was Kenneth L. Cornell in Round Rock and he was so great. good luck!

I had it bad in both feet. I put those Dr Scholls Plantar pads in all of my shoes, stretched my feet daily and used a special ball to roll my feet over and totally got rid of it in a few months. Never went to a doctor.
RogueRacingFX replied:
My podiatrist is Dr. Robson, he has to be the best doctor I have because I am usually in and out of his office in no more than 30 mins and he is good at getting you walking well again.

No podiatrist recommendation here, however mine calmed way down after massaging the bottom-middle of my feet with a golf ball and stretching. Look for videos on youtube to learn which part of the foot you need to apply pressure to.

No but I would very strongly recommend custom foam inserts. As I recall I saw two podiatrists here and they both gave me hard plastic inserts or whatever material they are. In Dallas I just went to more of a fancy retail place catering to this and I got the thick foam custom computer measured inserts that I've had for about a decade. Also I begrudgingly admit when I lost 70 lbs it made a huge difference. Unless you have flat feet then I can't attest to this method and for all I know the hard plastic ones would be better.

I dealt with it for years, then went to an Airrosti provider. I think I had 3 sessions on one foot and one on the other. The treatment wasn’t pleasant but worked for me.

Dr. Robson at http://www.austinpodiatry.com/ Awesome doctor!

I’ve had flare ups of plantar fasciitis as well as extensor tendinitis for several years and after talking to my general physician, instead of seeing a podiatrist I saw a physical therapist. It’s been a process but rather than treating the symptoms it feels like I’m fixing the actual problem. I’d highly recommend it to anyone dealing with issues like mine. Happy to provide more info on the PT I’m going to if anyone wants it.

My wife bought this for me on a whim, it has entirely resolved my PF with just a couple 10 minute sessions a day. Feels great and in the rare case it flares back up (1 x/m), I'm happy to have it around: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WGP2CVL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had this last year, not sure there's much you can do but take it easy on your foot till it heals. Things that helped me: * The pain was worst in the morning when my foot was cold and tight. What I would do is sit and roll a small ball or can under my foot, back and forth a couple of minutes. The massage would help loosen things up * These insoles are expensive but damn comfortable, made my shoes wearable again: https://www.superfeet.com/en-us/insoles-and-sandals/everyday-pain-relief?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjfPl3LyD6AIVTb7ACh0FUQFtEAQYAyABEgKqTfD_BwE

Dr. Isaac Bazan with Baylor Scott & White is great in the Round Rock/Georgetown area.
This is only farm-related in that I can hardly walk around to do the work I need to do, but does anybody LOVE a podiatrist in Austin? Especially one who works on...
Marie C. replied:
I like the guys at Austin Sports Medicine... I see Jim Fernandez. I've also seen Stephen Krych, and he was pretty good.
Laura C. replied:
Phil Davis at The Training Room is the best PT guy - he's helped me with my arthritic toe. I'll need to look up the podiatrist I saw... he was fine, but it's really the PT that helped
Laura C. replied:
I also saw Dr. Hubbard!
Phil D. replied:
Thanks for the "shout-out", Laura. If you do indeed have a fallen arch, it may be a good idea to see a podiatrist or foot and ankle orthopaedist. Dr. Hubbard, mentioned above is good. Trinity Mereau at Capitol Foot and Ankle is also good. For foot and ankle ortho, check out Dr. Andrew Ebert at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin, or Dr. S. Brent Brotzman at North Austin Sports Medicine. I would also love to see you for the rehabilitation portion at The Training Room. We do treat this condition and can give you some good pain relief while you wait to see podiatry or ortho.

I've used Dr. Jean Hertel at Austin Diagnostic and like her very much. He office is in North Austin Medical Center at Parmer and Mopac.

FYI. Apparently when your pregnant your feet swell and your nails grow faster, making it the perfect home for an ingrown toenail. Tmi? In need of a podiatrist, anyone...
Right foot not broken, but still hurts.. Can Anyone recommend a good podiatrist in Lakeway area?

http://patrickcorrigandpm.wordpress.com I really like Dr. Corrigan, when we were trying to figure out what was wrong with Jake -- Dr. Corrigan caught something on Jakes original xray that ALL the expert doctors had missed - he is super smart and went way above and beyond when working on Jakes case, he got us on the right path.
