I'll throw mine in as well. Dr. Shelly Sethi is a DO, has been an Ashtangi, and has studied Aruyeda.(512) 346-6611.

Jacqueline Angerstein, D.O. has my doc for over 10 years. Her office is at 3530 Bee Caves Rd., Suite 110, Austin, TX 78746. She seems to me to be more open-minded than other docs. Her office phone number is (512) 328-3311. I think you'll like her.
Uphillie L. replied:
Dr. Mary Mirto. She is a DO and will listen to your needs and help you make decisions based on holistic practices. Worth seeing and takes most insurance.
Seiji I. replied:
Ron Byrd is an ex climber FYI Salena. I use a guy in CA for same reasons, see him when I need to in person. Calls in when not necessary, trusts a lot of what I report on me and my athletes. Dr. Justin Mager.
Seiji I. replied:
BTW Doc Mager is against almost all current standard western standard protocol, pretty vehemently lol
Jaclyn H. replied:
I see Dr. Manso in San Marcos. drmanso.com He helps me manage my graves disease against the normal standard protocol.
Theresa M. replied:
I just found a new pcp at Austin regional clinic that I love. Dr. Shelley Sethi (she's a DO) doing a fellowship in integrative medicine (and he used to do ashtanga;)

When I lived in Austin my only gp was dr. Ron Byrd. In westlake. He used a holistic approach with some of my ailments. I don't know if he still does but you can ask him. Really nice man. Very invested in his patient's health. Good luck!
Lynsey D. replied:
I have been "eavesdropping "on this thread. My doctor is no longer accepting my insurance and I was going to ask the exact question - An DO in Austin with a holistic approach and accepting of "alternative" health methods and practices. Thanks all.
Teresa C. replied:
I see Dr. Mark Dickey at Holistic Family Health. He doesn't take insurance. He's very open to alternative approaches.
Does anyone know a CEU provider in or near Austin who offers Pediatric Oncology Massage Certification?
Nancy S. replied:
Ask Ariana Vincent. She might know.
Ariana V. replied:
The two people to contact would be Tracy Walton www.tracywalton.com and Tina Allenwww.liddlekidz.com.
Ariana V. replied:
Another person who might be a good resource is Sat-Siri Sumler at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She has her finger on the pulse of oncology massage education. You could also contact Geri Ruane. She is an oncology massage therapist whose practice is in Austin and she is the co-founder of the Oncology Massage Alliance.
Tere C. replied:
Thank you all. I appreciate your guidance. Ariana:I had the opportunity to take a class from Tina Allen in San Diego a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. Unfortunately she is not planning to teach any more courses in Texas this year. I will try to contact Tracy Walton and Sat-Siri Sumler.
Scot S. replied:
Sat-Siri Sumler is fantastic. i took the MD anderson course with her and it was very informative.

Can anyone, in Austin, recommend a good oncologist who specializes in breast cancer? Nothing's wrong... It's just time for scans and I don't want to use my old doctor...
Miri H. replied:
Thanks... just as long as it's not Dr. Hellerstedt.
Joe H. replied:
Dr Mallek at the Shivers Center has been very good to me.
Miri H. replied:
Thanks Joe Huddleston... I had to laugh though, the first Dr. Mallek to come up on google was a psychiatrist. I thought cool... I'll kill two birds with one stone if I use this doctor.

Michael H. replied:
I might suggest a couple of YouTube channels to check out, 1) DTM Liferegenerater 2) Dr. Robert Cassar EarthShiftProject 3) Herbs and Beads Works These videos these individuals put out changed my life in a most positive way,,,, I took a prescription drug called Phen-Phen in the early 90's, it all but killed me,actually died 4 separate times, was in a deep coma each time, it destroyed my endocrine and lymphatic systems, in 2003 b I woke from a nap paralyzed from waist down and in tremendous pain, two vertebrae collapsed, but it wasn't until 2005, after two years in a nursing home they discovered the fractured vertebrae, I was in there until 2010, from 2003-2010! I was dying, in 2004 Dr's assured me I'd be dead within the next coming year, make appropriate arrangements, then God stepped in and illuminated me, he showed me how to heal my body, it came via a seldom watched cable channel, an even less watched program, a nutritionist telling of the dangers of CORN, how devastating it is to our bodies, causing inflammation and killing off the good bacteria in our gut,(large & small intestines ), that's where our food is actually absorbed, fast foods, and I use the term food loosly, have absolutely no nutritional value what so ever, processed foods meaning most frozen or canned or boxed, are the same, anything with preservatives, colorings or flavorings kill the good bacteria, the cans are lined with an epoxy that raises estrogen levels, don't matter if your man or woman, if you eat or drink canned anything, this estrogenic substance will effect you, it's a very deep rabbit hole, check out the "Georgia Guide Stones", there's a bible of sorts printed on the stones for laws of The New World Order to follow, no more than one half million people on the earth at any given time, and that's what they believe, that's why our air, food & water are polluted with toxic chemicals, become aware, take your health into your own hands, educate yourself, it's the only way to keep yourself and your family healthy, fit and full of vitality. I seriously pray your feeling better, if there's anything, I do mean anything at all I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me. This is coming from someone who was so close to death, one night God came to me, he presented a doorway before me, he told me all I needed to do was step through the door, my pain and suffering would end, he left this decision up to me, I can't tell you just how sick I was, very week, my arms like pin cushions from them trying to start I.V.'s, paraplegic and in so much pain, I was so close to death, but I chose to live, to fight and learn how to improve my health, after stopping eating and drinking anything with Corn, just 4 short weeks and my body began to heal, I began to stand, walk with a walker, could move myself in a wheelchair, I never looked back, now don't eat or drink anything processed, no sugar, no grains, that's the hard one, make our own condiments like ketchup, mayo, drink fermented drinks and foods like Kombucha, Tapacha, don't eat anything with chemicals in it, I've still got some issues, but I'm as healthy as a thoroughbred, and getting stronger everyday, I pray these changes for you, for everyone. Sincerely Michael Hall
