Sonias Driving school in East Boston. The quality of teaching is quite average but you have to be really bad at driving to fail their test. They literally just make you take a lap around the block and parallel park. If that’s something you are looking for. http://soniasdrivingschool.com

Lucien of Shammah Driving School of Cambridge was my instructor. Old-school dude with a no-nonsense approach. Will assess your strengths and weaknesses quickly. If you mess up, he WILL let you know. He's more expensive than others. Caveat: Lucien will be on the phone booking appts. with others during your lesson but he's paying attention to you nonetheless. He's more expensive than others but I think his style of teaching really shortened my learning curve.
After I felt like I didn't need further instructions but only needed road practice, I went with City Auto in South Boston which had more availability and was cheaper hourly. They also have connections with RMV to schedule you a road test quickly.
We are moving to Boston next week and I would be grateful if anyone could recommend a driving school. For the first few months we will be staying at the Colonnade...

You just need to show proof of consent from the rental company, which may or may not be a problem, but isn't for Hertz/Enterprise. Car does need a hand brake though, not one of those cars with a button like the buick Lacrosse. Also, if you have a UK license already, you don't need a sponsor at the test. Only thing about the tests, not to speed, hit anything, over do the looking in mirror/shoulder thing and for the theory to learn penalty points for under 21 year old's, especially drink related ones.
Hey guys!

Does anyone have any experience dealing with City Auto Driving School in Southie? Looking for a driving school for my son.

Village Auto in Quincy on Newport Ave. between Job Lot and Beale Street are excellent... Sent my daughters there. Not to make anyone mad here in this political correct world we live in but, speaking English was a major concern and understanding with comprehension mattered in picking an Auto School for my daughters in this vast competitive industry. I wanted them understanding their instructors teaching them without confused broken English. They are working on the Red Line now at Wollaston Station but, very convenient in getting to by train if need be.
