I have had migraines (mostly hormonal) for years. I am pregnant, so have had to stop all "effective" (I use that term loosely, nothing cures them) medications and have been searching for an answer. I started essential oils and they are not helping much. I am going to the neurologist soon to try and find a solution. A good friend of mine has had luck with occipital nerve blocks. http://www.medcentral.org/main/OccipitalNerveBlock.aspx

Valerie as you can see I have brain cancer. I will tell you I have had Chronic Migraines for 20 years. And migraines since I was 12. Horrible! Have you tried to give yourself a brain freeze when it's really bad? If not as bad as that hurts it also helps. Try to eat something very cold get a brain freeze and let me know your thoughts. As crazy as it sounds my brain surgeon told me to try it and it does help.

Valerie, I go to Raleigh Neuro for my migraines as well. Last Oct., I went on a low gluten diet. That same week, the P.A. I see there put me on 400 mcg of Vit. B2 and 400-500 mg of Magnesium daily. I went from having several migraines a month, lasting several days each, to about 1 every 2 months. Not sure if it was the low gluten diet, the supplements, or both, but it has changed my life. Good luck!

I see Dr. Ferrell too. He hasn't mentioned that to me. When I go in for DHE iv treatments this week, I'll ask about it.

Dr. Bob is very good but he doesn't like to come as far as Oxford I had hm and had to change. He did refer me over to Dr. Kirsten Tillotson and she has been excellent. I would suggest contacting her. She is located in Roxboro.
