Sandy S. replied:
Have you considered a vitamin regimen? My son was put on magnesium & b2 . Both prescribed vitamins not over the counter and he has significant reduction in the number of migraines . Diet pays a huge part as well. Reduce sugar, sodium, processed foods . He sometimes goes to a neurological chiropractor . Dr. Bill Shine in Greensburg from time to time for adjustments.
Lynn L. replied:
Kim, have you ever tried a chiropractor? My eldest daughter suffered from migraines for years. We were referred to Dr. Billot in Gbg. and it was like a miracle...no more headaches after 3 sessions! She noticed a great difference after just one treatment. Turns out, she had a misalignment in her upper spine due to cheerleading and tumbling. May be worth a try!
Shannon T. replied:
Dr Asato
Blanche M. replied:
Dr. Catalano he is in greensburg.
Audrey Y. replied:
Dr Claire Yanta at the University of Pitt, Dept of Neurology, Headache Center. My daughter is 18 and has suffered with headaches and migraines for years. We just recently started seeing Dr. Yanta, and we really like her. My daughter is also on a vitamin regimen and has also used peppermint oil in the past as well as chiropractic treatments. She also takes presc meds recommended by the Dr. Good luck. It's awful seeing them suffer.
Dr Robert Kaniecki in Oakland. That is who I go to for migraines. Call now because it will take a while to get in to him as he is the guru of migraines in Pgh. 412-647-9494.
Ytsim K. replied:
My daughter has the same problem I was taking her to children's east Monroeville been 3 years and they didn't do anything but put her on meds. So I decided to go for second opinion so she is seeing pushpa Kumari, md. There phone number is 4124967202 they are located in Belle vernon

Hi Im Sorry about your daughter's migraine I used to have them all the time I had tunnel vision with flashing lights all around my center of vision Several times I've blacked out Till I visited a Chiropractor That made all the difference in my health I haven't had one (knock on wood) for over 30 years I go occasionally for a tune up but on my schedule Dr. Nicholas J Senuta has helped me with mine recently I see him for "Tune Ups" occasionally Give him a PM and I'm certain he'll be able to help Good luck
Joe K. replied:
I second giving Dr. Nicholas J Senuta a call. I had terrible migraines and went to every specialist imaginable and tried chiropractic on my own and it was the only thing that worked. No pills no surgery. I would try chiropractic first. Worked wonders for me!
Bridget N. replied:
Dr. ALPER at Children's Hospital. She took care of my son for his epilepsy. Wonderful
Renee S. replied:
My daughter used to get severe ones, tried the neurologist, they put her on preventive meds but she still suffered. Last January we found Dr Bryan Klaus in monroeville, he's a chiropractor that owns Body Mechanics, she hasn't had a migraine in over a year. He is very honest and will let you know up front after an evaluation if he thinks he can help.

Karie W. replied:
Go to Dr. Kaneicki at the UPMC headache clinic in Oakland....he is in charge of the clinic, he is the best headache doctor you can possibly hope for! I have been a patient for three or four years, just took my 16 year old daughter for her first appointment. We both get migraines.... he has reduced us both by at least half. In addition to appropriate preventative medication ( not heavy pain meds) he encourages a lifestyle that includes exercise, proper rest, avoidance of caffeine in high amounts, drinking plenty of water, and taking magnesium. His whole philosophy is based on maintaining the body's levels of serotonin.... which is where a migraine comes from when it drops. I would call for an appointment now because the wait is about 6 months, but it is worth it!!!! In the meantime, ask her doctor to try her on the lowest dose of topamax and start doing some of the things I mentioned... hopefully it will give her some relief! Good luck!!!!!

She has treated my daughter for migraines and concussions and had her seeing two other specialists and two types of therapy. She is very thorough and very helpful. Daughter has recovered completely. Don't mess around with drs in town go to specialists in city.

UPMC Department of Neurology...just check that your insurance will cover them. Best of luck!
Elicia H. replied:
I've had migraines for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I went to a neurologist at Childrens and it did nothing for me. For years now I have been going to Dr. Kaniecki at UPMC and he is wonderful! I highly recommend him!
Betsy H. replied:
Dr Patterson with Children's Neurology. I drive to Wheeling Wv to see her. I hate going into the city. Dr Patterson is a very thorough compassionate female doctor. My daughter is special needs with epilepsy. She has always treated my daughter with respect and love.
Bonnie A. replied:
If you have a dr from Children’s or UPMC Presbyterian and they have office hours at UPMC east I cannot say enough about that facility. Easy to get around and super efficient and just pleasant to be in. I suffer from migraines and would say find the best dr at children's or UPMC. Might want to start with Pittsburgh magazines best Drs list. Drs rate other Drs. http://www.pittsburghmagazine.com/Pittsburgh-Magazine/May-2016/Best-Doctors-in-Pittsburgh-2016/

Deva M. replied:
My oldest has been a patient of Dr. Delaroche for a little over 10 yrs. I didn't have any issues until she moved her office to its current location. My concern is she has too many patients. We had to reschedule a simple cleaning because my daughter was at camp. They had nothing open for another 6 mos! So I took my daughter to my dentist. They found 5 cavities that Tendercare completely missed. Although I like the atmosphere of the office, except for the cat (my daughter has very bad allergies to cats) I'm worried that they are more about the money. How does the dentist and the hygienist both miss 5 cavities?
Phil R. replied:
Travis McClain, Rebecca McClain
Abbey K. replied:
I took my kids there when they had medical assistance and she was our only choice for a pediatric dentist. Dr. B isn't the most friendly. She does unnecessary procedures. One of my kids had a chipped tooth for a very long time and suddenly Dr. B decided to cap it while she was sedated for other work. I didn't know she was going to do this. My other daughter had a loose crown and Dr. B wasn't even present when her staff decided to remove it and put a new one without any form of sedation or novacaine. The last straw was when her staff insisted my daughter had an abscessed tooth when Dr. B never even examined her. We went somewhere else for a second opinion and have decided to never go back.
Melissa M. replied:
We love Tendercare. My oldest son started going there when she started out in Dr Santora's practice. Dr. B and her staff have always been kind and professional. She doesn't put your kid in braces at 8 years old like some other dentists. And Ginger the cat is great too.
Lea F. replied:
Cortney Long
Pam B. replied:
I'm with you Amy. The cat jumped on my daughter when she was there. It clawed a three inch mark on her hand/finger. I was pissed and told the staff. She said "well the cat doesn't like to be grabbed ". We were sitting there. She didn't touch or grab it as she was partially sedated. It was an extreme inconvenience for her to get me a bandaid. Never went back. Rude office staff. If my employees spoke to parents that way they wouldn't have a job.
Kristian H. replied:
Tosha Marie Coleman
Francine P. replied:
Before you go the sedation route, please go see Dr. Bupp. My son has been asked to not come back to 3 pediatric dentists. He has a severe fear of them. The last one wanted to put him to sleep to fill 3 cavaties. I had to pay 300.00 up front. Dr. BUPP was recomended, we went, of course my son was a mess. With in 5 minutes Dr.Bupp had him laughing, filled all 3 teeth, no putting him to sleep, he never used a needle. My son loves to go to dentist now. The man is amazing with children.
Stephanie L. replied:
We had 1 visit with Tender Care, I never returned after the assistant called my daughter a drama queen for being nervous/scared to take scans on her first dentist appointment. We go to Dr. Geshay and couldn’t be happier!
Angela A. replied:
My daughter who is autistic loves Dr. B and her team! She had sedation for a cavity and did great! The care they give is beyond fantastic! And having Ginger the cat there to help calm nervous kids makes all the difference.
Jaime M. replied:
My daughter and I love Tender Care! She was traumatized by another dentist but has had no problems there at all. She had to have an in office sedation procedure done and I was able to be with her the entire time unlike another dentist we had gone to. Ginger was just a baby kitten at the time and when she woke from the sedation they brought Ginger in to her and it helped my daughter remain calm while coming to more. I haven't had to deal with any emergencies for a few years, so I really can't comment on emergency appointments. But overall we're very happy there. Just one person in the office staff that I don't care for. She's given me unneccessary attitude a couple of times. But she's not treating my daughter so I just shoot dirty looks back at her (lol) and let it go.
Angel C. replied:
Ashley Lewis care to share your experience
Krys O. replied:
My kids have gone there for 15 years! My daughter bit Dr B a few times, they were always professional and kind
