Recommendations for any store in the country (anywhere) that sells orthopedic boots?

Looking for suggestions for a pediatric orthopedist in southern jerusalem.
Mindy S. replied:
Well, I made the decision because it seemed that waiting for 2 weeks to see him was the best of my choices. But I would like comments (PM is fine) from Deborah Lustig or Dina Weiner re Dr. Amir (who is much closer, and who has appointments in less than a week). But can only see one orthopedist per quarter....
Ellen A. replied:
Stay away from Amir. I won't go into details here but trust me. Dr. Dansiger in Malcha sees kids. If it's urgent, you can go and just wait until he can squeeze you in. Best to call. Besides being competent, he's very nice. 02-584-6400. Hours are Mon 9:30-12:00 Tues 19:30-21:30 Fri 9:30-14:00
Harry C. replied:
Maybe Michele Chabin, he treated one of her sons. But if you want to see him any time soon, you have to go through the Sharap. He sees through the Kupa, but I'm will to bet there is a very long wait for an appointment. Also, through the Kupa he is in Ramot (which is not southern Jerusalem). https://www.meuhedet.co.il/meuhedet/views/engine?templateKey=1414607761430&idorItemId=topMenu&templateName=meuhedetMenu.txt&q=02&headerFlashParam=null&mainView=query&queryType=details&queryName=doctor.details&&index=021932005&request-type=02×tamp=5390136202910014&isOrderQueue=true&isApproachable=false&rnd=0.595087145142623
Harry C. replied:
I've gotten a good recommendation about this guy from someone I trust, but he's a general orthopedist. Still, might be a shorter wait with him, and he's at Malcha. https://www.meuhedet.co.il/meuhedet/views/engine?templateKey=1414607957272&idorItemId=topMenu&templateName=meuhedetMenu.txt&q=02&headerFlashParam=null&mainView=query&queryType=details&queryName=doctor.details&&index=030790008&request-type=02×tamp=3821739202910014&isOrderQueue=true&isApproachable=true&rnd=0.9108822182895278
Mindy S. replied:
Thanks. I made an appt. for Dr. Simanovski in Ramot. I want to see a pediatric orthopedist, not a general orthopedist.
Dina W. replied:
We have an appointment with David Amir at Kenyon hadar. It took a week to see him. We can let u know what we think. I don't know if he is pediatric.
Harry C. replied:
Ellen, Do you know anything about Dr. Yaakobi? I think he's in the same clinic as Dr. Dansiger.
Ellen A. replied:
Nope. I've seen his name on the door but that's about it. Dr. Blatt is ok too. Most of the kupat Cholim orthopedists aren't great. I usually end up at Hadassah Sharap with Dr. Carole Piedhorst who is a hand specialist. Having four kids, I seem to know lots of good as well as incompetent drs
Leora L. replied:
Mindy M. Schimmel, keep in mind, that if this is something important, you can contact the Kupa and ask them to approve a second opinion. It's not such a big deal to get approval for a second opinion and is well worth it. That way, you can go to more than one doctor in the quarter. The only orthopedist I am happy with is in Ashdod(!) but he's not a pediatric orthopedist. Good luck!
Michele C. replied:
If it could be serious at all, I highly recommend Dr. Simanovsky. He operated on our Eitan 3 times and was the consummate professional and also extremely nice. He was worth the expense.
Anyone have a good orthopedist in Jlem? One who will actually take the 5-10 minutes to talk and explain things to you and that preferably has an x-ray machine on site?
Alexander K. replied:
i don't work with meuhedet so i am not so familiar. perhaps your GP will know. People like Dr Naomi Stockewell, Dr Yael Paldi, Dr Keren Djemal are excellent GP's (2 of them were my tutors) and know the business better than me (and also work with Meuhedet)

Alexander K. replied:
lower back, maccabi. if your back problem is truly a surgical issue then you should be having CTs and/or MRI's done and seeing Dr Amir Sharoni the back specialist or one of the spinal neurosurgeons in hadassah. A Good neurologist is important too

I assume you mean your foot (forefoot)? If so then Dr Oded Eisenberg. Great orthopedist, a real mensch, also works as a foot specialist in Share Zedek (although works as a general orthopedist in the kuppa), Tell him I recommended him to you and he'll probably be even nicer than he is anyway

Alexander K. replied:
Sorry to hear about Dr R. They all are given about 7 minutes to see each patient and have to work at 3 different places (hospital, kuppas) a day, so no one is going to get a 10 min chat. If you tell me (or PM me) the problem I can try and put you in the right direction
Faygle T. replied:
Thank you SO much Alexander for your suggestions! I am looking for knee-related help in Maccabi. Dr. Paldi is great as a GP but I need proper knee recommendations which she wasn't able to provide.

Ok. Someone MUST know a good ankle orthopedist in this country?! I've been to a bunch and asked everyone I know... and I'm beginning to believe one doesn't exist.......
Madeline A. replied:
Don't know if he specializes in feet but I highly recommend Dr Weisbrod. He is in Shaare Tzedek and is really thorough.
I am from Tzfat and while in Maccabi dealing with two orthos who only did two xrsys and told me to lose weight, one ortho finally suggested i see Sport Foot and Ankle Specialist. In.Tzfat hospital is Dr.Noam Resfef ד"ד נועם רשף אורטופד כף רגל Israeli who did his Fellowship in Chicago. He has also private clinic. Dr. Efraim Liebner is wonderful. English speaker, specializes in feet. He's on Meuhedet in Pisgat Zeev, but you can probably see him privately at Hadassah Har Hatzofim.

Anyone know a great orthopedist preferable American (since patient is American yeshiva student) in Jerusalem area? Thanks!
Sari G. replied:
I saw a guy at Hadassah Har HaTzofim for a foot injury (he's a foot an ankle specialist), if that's relevant. Mother tongue English and Hebrew, made aliya as a kid, did some post grad stuff in America. I don't know what the insurance situation would be for your yeshiva student, but I saw him once through Sharap (I needed in FAST) and then was able to schedule the rest of my appointments through Maccabi. If your student is on HarEl or something, there are probably other limitations (ie. only the doctors on their lists, or something...).
