Looking for an Anglo doctor in Maccabi... suggestions?
Shmulik P. replied:
Terem on hagdud haivri is just like any other Maccabi clinic. just go there and choose a family doctor. http://guide.maccabi4 u.co.il/EntityDetails.aspx?DocId=E9FF26B201D0206998278019CEE5701C&ClinicID=4848&DocProfession=1&EntityDetailsTypeId=1
Schneur N Chavy Rosenberg that's a different TEREM. The emergency clinics are not the same and cost money. BTW, Maccabi has a deal that if you need to see a doctor, you can call their 700 number and if they agree, they will send you to a TERM EMERGENCY clinic, or an Emergency room (miun) at their expense.

John Borofsky he's with Maccabi, at Agripas, and he's great!
Geoffrey M. replied:
Schneur N Chavy Rosenberg the TERM family practice offices are a separate company than the TEREM emergency clinics. They were once the same company, but split. The cost of seeing a doctor at the family practice clinics is the same as any other kupah doctor.

This doesn't exactly answer your question but perhaps this may be helpful. Malkah Devorah Malkah Devorah There's an amazing insurance agency called Egert and Cohen that handles this type of insurance. They are owned by English speakers and very conscientious. Their website is https://www.egertcohen.co.il/ - I think that Dr. Tessa Mah Naim in Talpiyot takes private patients. She's an English speaker and excellent. Her office is in the doctor's office in the Achim Yisroel mall about a block down from the Hadar Mall. The website is in Hebrew that appointments are booked for her at doctorim.co.il - but if that's an issue you can probably just stop by the mall and ask

In addition there is a free STD clinic in the central bus-station and a free refugee clinic. ER's MUST treat all seriously ill people, whether they have the finances to pay or not. Work accitdents as well as work related diseases are covered by the bituah leumi, also for foreigners who work here
Diana G. replied:
William Levi. What about people who are waiting for their papers to be handled? For instance spouses to israeli citizens who are in progress. Or asulym seekers. Or tourist without insurance. If a car hits one of these persons on the street and they can't afford to pay do you actually think that the ambulance should leave them behind? That the doctor should not treat them? In some cases there is a need for free health care! In most cases it is a temporary problem because the person will eventually contribute to the health care and they urgently need it!
