We feel your pain. This situation with the Villages Health System Is ridiculous! You might try Rivers Family Practice or Dr.Glick with Florida Heart and Vascular. They both were taking new patients not too long ago.

I’m really sorry about this string. I only want to find a doctor and I thank everyone who has responded thus far. That said, I would like to explain what happened to us and my perspective. For the record, I spoke to 3 different Advantage systems, including United Health Care (4 times). I also had a very long (45 minute) heart to heart with my Primary Care Physician, who is the best Dr. I ever had. All agreed that we had to leave The Villages Healthcare System. My wife and I have Medicare AND strong supplemental/secondary insurance from the two largest medical providers: United Health Care and Aetna. What is missing in this conversati

I have The Villages United Health Care Advantage Plan - Point if Service. Love it! My primary is Dr. Heidi Zimmerman - very professional. Stays right on top of my care, testing, etc. Josh Wittorff is my agent. Very responsive and knowledgeable.

Dr. Steven Hawk goes to their Leesburg office. Dr. Page Smith is in Summerfield. Dr. Hashani Perkins goes to Summerfield & Leesburg. Dr. Melissa Mejia goes to Lake Sumter Landing & Summerfield. The reason I did not like Premier was that my doctor was Dr. Khanna, but he was never available when we arrived for our appointment. The service was very impersonal, and we often had long waits even with appointments.

I would think any Internal Medicine/ primary care doctor would be able to assist with this. I don’t know if anyone who specializes in it besides say a nutritionist. You may be able to ask different offices if their doctor would be helpful with this kind of care. Assisting you with diet and managing your chronic health issues.
