Zip Car is great for hourly or short term rentals. I have used Enterprise, Budget, Dollar, National, Hertz, Avis, Alamo, Thrifty depending on the city and time of year. Also don't forget to check out all the aggregators like: bookingbuddy.com, priceline.com, hotwire.com, kayak.com and the others to help find a good deal.

keep searching priceline.com, it changes daily..u can hold a booking without being charged and look for a cheaper on

I use skyscanner.com. Works like a charm. Safair is currently the cheapest but keep in mind you have to pay for your luggage - think it's R150 per bag.
