Any experience with Pet Insurance? I recently had to say goodbye to my 7 year old corgi due to chronic disease that I couldn't afford to treat - she's now a foster...

I did a ton of research about this for my dog. Healthy Paws is about half the cost of trupanion, and they have an annual deductible instead of per condition like trupanion. I pay $30 a month for my dog with a $250 annual deductible. He got one ear infection and that knocked out half the deductible right there. They processed the claim within 3 days, and they say the first one takes the longest. For that one, I believe when I did the math your dog needs to hit like $3000 in vet bills over its lifetime to break even. That's really easy, my last dog had that in emergency vet bills alone, not even regular illnesses. They don't cover routine dog owning costs like vaccines. They cover illnesses and injuries. I'll grab my referral link, then you get the highest discount they offer, I believe. http://refer.healthypawspetinsurance.com/v2/share/6121654036337874948

All the staff at Indian Peaks Veterinary have been great with both my dogs. One of mine is fearful of everyone and they are wonderful with him.

we had a 20 year old Blue Heeler that we brought to Dr. Dodge 5 years ago. He was fantastic handling her arthritis and she was also very fearful of the vet. She passed 5 years ago and now take our dogs to Foxtail Pines and I can't say enough great things about the vet there. He is fantastic and I bet he would be just as great as Dr. Dodge from Jaspers. Hope that helps

We love Home Instead Vet. Dr. Sanderlin is amazing with our dogs and comes to your house! I think he is similar in price to a clinic. Www.homeinsteadvetcare.com

I take my guy to Green Dog Wash. My dog won't even let me touch his feet too much but they always get his nails done really well, and all around great job otherwise.

Paws to groom is great for self wash and grooming. They usually book six weeks out, so plan ahead if you aren't doing the self wash. I like Cambridge Animal hospital as my vet. Not over priced, friendly, and knowledgeable. Congrats on the new puppers!

we have a mini poodle and have taken him to damn near everywhere around town...the best place that we've found (in terms of quality and price) is Paws 2 Groom in Longmont, but they have a wait list of about a month, so get on it sooner rather than later. for vets, we've been going to Arapahoe Animal hospital and have had good experiences there, but almost always feel like we're upsold on something.

I take my pup to Alpine Hospital on Valmont. I don't have a bad word to say. She fucking loves going in there, gets excited to say hi to everybody. I think her reaction is more important than mine at the end of the day.

Dr. Patrick Kalenzi practices in Broomfield now (he used to be at Broadway Animal Hospital in Boulder), but he saved my cat's life and is a very intuitive diagnostician. I recommend him if you ever have anything out of the ordinary going on with your dog. Dr. Aya Alt who's currently at Broadway Animal Hospital is very nice and skilled as well. Edit: And Louis is so freaking cute! His hair definitely reminds me of Louis XIV!

For grooming, I highly recommend Tiffanie at the Paw Spa in Longmont. She's wonderful with dogs, a true stylist, and just a good person. And congratulations on the new puppy!
