Heather C. replied:
Dr Buck has seen me through four Mohs surgeries and an early melanoma. She has a great eye for skin checks. Wait times seem to have improved. I don't mind waiting a little for someone that catches cancer growths easily
Andrea S. replied:
I just had skin cancer removed from Sandra Elder 856-596-3393 she is amazing the entire practice did a great job and you can't even see the scars anywhere.
Lisa G. replied:
Dr. Justin Green in Marlton or Dr. Koulin Chou in Voorhees, love them both. I have also heard great things about Dr. Sandra Elder.

I recently had a suspicious mark and went to Dr. DeCosmo. He said it was nothing but took a biopsy. He even delayed doing the biopsy. It turned out to be melanoma. I do not trust him. Went to Dr. Heymann last week for my 6 month check and would recommend him. Very thorough.

I liked Dr. High. He was great with my kids when they were young-teens. Answered my questions honestly and spoke clearly so I could understand. I always ask "why?" and want to know as much as possible regarding treatments for my children. And they gave me free samples of creams so we didn't have to purchase expensive creams on top of the meds.

I thought his office was so dirty and out dated and skeevy I never went back. Dr Finklestein has the best bedside manner for men women and children alike I've ever seen on any kind of doctor . He's adorable, too, but that's neither here nor there:)
Denise W. replied:
Dr. High performed two very skillful Mohs procedures on me in very visible places and for that I am grateful, but the wait for appointments is awful and I found both the staff and Dr. High abrupt. Not at all what I needed after having two carcinomas removed. I'm see Dr. Caruso after a rec on this page and am very happy.
Suzanne M. replied:
Dr. Andrea Buck, just say NO! Takes forever to get an appointment with her and then her staff calls to cancel & reschedule a few hours before the actual appointment. Happened 3 x, then I was like screw that! Big fan of Dr. Heyman & his practice!
Judy M. replied:
I love Dr Bernardin in voorhees not far from the Ritz
Lauren B. replied:
I second Heyman & Manders. Also takes forever to get an appointment but great doctors.
Jeff W. replied:
No one mentioned South Jersey Skin Care. It's in Mt. Laurel, on Church Rd. at Gaither Dr. (also have an office in Hammonton on the Pike). I've been going there for a couple years now and find them to be very clean, prompt, and professional. Dr. Levin is the primary there, but I see Dr. West (no relation) and am very happy with them.
Michael D. replied:
I once had a splotch show up on my arm. I showed it to Dr Harrop who simply said "I don't know what that is" and left it at that. That was unacceptable to me who wanted to know what it was. I later had an appt with my general doctor at the time, Dr Albert-Puleo, and I showed it to him. He didn't know what it was either, but he took a punch biopsy and had it sent to a lab to see what it was. Why Dr Harrop didn't do that I do not know. The result was it was some kind of fungal thing (I forget the name) that was nothing to be concerned about and would fade over time (which it did). In this case, my dermatologist completely failed me. I never went back to Dr Harrop after that. I now go to South Jersey Skin Care in Mt Laurel and see Dr West there. She seems to be pretty thorough.
Carmila C. replied:
South Jersey Skin Care in Mt. Laurel .. Dr. Levin is my neighbor! Been going there for years! Love them!

Melissa C. replied:
I like Dr. High. Not sure what people are saying. The only bad thing is the wait.
Donna L. replied:
Dr. Finklestein used to work with Dr. High.
Laurie R. replied:
Dr High and Dr Harrop are both excellent...good diagnostic Drs and excellent surgeons ....the wait is long for an appt but if you tell them you are having a problem they always find a appt for a quick look...people who complain should realize it's s specialist office and should be prepared to wait.,,

David Finkelstein in Voorhees. As a nurse care coordinator, I refer many patients there....the wait for an appointment is always a reasonable time frame as well.
Joe R. replied:
Dr Buck will keep you waiting at least an hour. Did it to me twice. The second time I opened the door after sitting in the observation room alone for 45 minutes. She looked bothered at me and said it would be a few more minutes. I told her I was done and wanted my copay back because I was tired of waiting. She said her patients always wait that long. Guess her time is more valuable than ours. Got my copay back and never returned.
Vicki W. replied:
Never a problem with Dr. Caruso. Pleasant staff and they do not keep you waiting. It may take a bit to get an appointment, but she's very thorough.
Danielle K. replied:
I also go to Dr DeCosmo. I started going to him because of exactly what you explain. I couldn't get my son an appt with anyone in less then 3 months. That doesn't really help when you're having a problem now. Personality wise Dr DeCosmo is going to tell you how it is and not sugar coat but that's fine with me, but probably not for some. You also have to pay in cash for co-pays but other then that you can get an appt almost anytime within a week. Been going there for almost a year now.
Heather A. replied:
Every time I've gone to see Dr Buck, hardly any wait.

Kathleen S. replied:
Dr. Nick LoPresti Haddon Heights. He's amazing!
Missy T. replied:
I like Dr. DeCosmo professionally, but he is very abrasive. I appreciate his honesty. I had a flat mole on my chin that I wanted removed and he told me he wouldn't remove it because I'd me pissed and try to sue him because it would leave a spot that wouldn't tan. I'm sure he deals with stuff like that, especially in Medford. I hand wrote him a letter telling him that he explained what it would do and that I wouldn't sue him and he removed it for me. We've used him for a lot of things. He's very cynical, but I've found him to be VERY honest. Maybe even too honest for some. He knows what he's doing. I've seen him cure horrible acne too.
Anybody have a recommendation for a good dermatologist ?

Jan L. replied:
Dr. Harrop is female at Accent Dermatology on Stokes Rd. in Medford, been going there for many years for skin cancer. She is good. I tried Dr. Buck first and had a bad experience. I heard Buck is fine for acne type problems but not skin cancer.
Vicki W. replied:
Dr. Meghan Caruso in Marlton, across from Whole Foods. Not a 'cosmetic' dermo, but a good, thorough dermatologist. She won't try to sell you a bunch of products.
Does anyone happen to know of any good dermatologists in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area? I have taken Finley to North Star to see Dr. Gomez but after thousands no...
Joan S. replied:
Try Dutton Road Animal Clinic. Part of NJGAP. They have a lot of experience with greyhounds.
Jean P. replied:
Please try Dr. Karen Helton Rhodes as a consultant if you cannot get to her office. Your vet would send the necessary records and samples. I remember taking my Dad's dog Penny who had terrible skin and a horrendous odor. Dr. Helton Rhodes walked into the room, took one sniff and diagnosed her...started her on a regime of anti-fungal meds. I swear to you...with the amount of money my Dad had spent trying to help her ...I used to be an heiress but no more!
Darryl S. replied:
Sounds like an immune deficiency problem, i had a boy with that problem, started him on prednizone and Atopica, after a good deal of time we cut back on the preds and stayed on the Atopica for over a year then cut that back little by little until eventually he was off of it completely, this was done by a dermatoligist but not in you area. It was done in the Lehigh valley area. Dr, Palmera.
Fred B. replied:
Andea...I have to reccommend at this point either..Red Bank Vetrinary or U of Penn....Red Bank we have had personal dealing with...not dermatology but oncology....you also may wish to try Garden State in Tinton Falls...
Sheila P. replied:
I don't have any advice except to say that Andrea Booker is the best Greyhound mommy in the world. I am praying for Finley.
Darryl S. replied:
Dr. Palmera worked mircles with our Walker if you are willing to bring him to the Lehigh Valley Area. I would recomend him highly to anyone. Shirley Prayers Finley.
Tracy B. replied:
A bit of a drive for you but Dr Helton-Rhodes is fantastic. She has been treating my boy and she has had a greyhound too http://www.njvetderm.com
Jean P. replied:
I second that...Dr. Rhodes treated my dad's dog (not a grey) years ago and we would have saved much time and money had we heard about her sooner...she nailed the problem right away. Check the website...looks like she is available for consults with the treating vets.
Sue S. replied:
University of Pennsylvania Vet School, west Philly.
Need a recommendation for a good Dermatologist for my husband without spending hours in a waiting room.
Cory E. replied:
Doctor Decosmo. He's at the yellow building across from Freedom Park. He's not the most warm & fuzzy person, but he knows what he's doing & he's great at it. I had horrible acne & eczema & he cleared it up. I get constant compliments on how beautiful my skin is. He's great.
Audrey A. replied:
I like Dr Analisa Halpern with Heymann, Manders and Green on Brick Rd. Little to no wait in the waiting room, but scheduling the appointment was another thing....just like all dermatologists - you have to wait months to get in. And as much as I like Dr High - you can age 10 years in the waiting room!
Angela C. replied:
Heymann, Manders and Green in Marlton! Took the cancer off of President Bush seniors nose!
Natalie S. replied:
I love David Finklestein at Alta Dermatology on Cooper Road in Voorhees.
Natalie S. replied:
Ifound Dr. Decosmo's office to be dusty and dirty and I skeeved it. But that's me. A dr's office should be spotless. Dr. Finklestein used to be with High years ago when I found him and I followed him to Voorhees. Waiting time isn't excessive and they usu get me and kids in for appt. quick.

Natalie, I had a bad experience at Dr. DeCosmo's office too. I agree that the old office seemed old and dirty. And while I waited I heard a long discussion of how he wouldn't see a patient because he owed $30. Then I didn't like his manner in my check, he didn't take notes and just generally an unpleasant experience. I'd been referred by my former primary doc. I saw Dr. Harrop last year for an issue and she was wonderful.

Saw the aforementioned dr when I had shingles on my face - gave me cream and said it was a rash............needless to say, after a correct dx (by another doc) I got proper rx.......scars too. not happy. look around more and maybe travel a bit. Donna Symons - if your husband has signs of skin cancer, send him to dr. nick lopresti on rte 30 - he will wait, but he's good. then go to Dr. Rosenbaum in Philly for Mohs treatment.....sometimes you gotta pay the toll...... ;-0
