Looking for a "thorough" optometrist My last eye exam was a few years ago and I'm pretty sure the optician did the job of the optometrist because my new glasses were...

I've been seeing the Desgrolliers since I was a little kid. Great family practice. http://www.ottawaoptometric.com/en/home.aspx

I had a great experience at [McLeod Optometry] (http://www.mcleodoptometryclinic.ca/) a few months ago. I saw Dr. Muggeridge, but I've heard that the other doctors are just as great. Very thorough too, he did a lot of the same tests that I had done when I went to see an ophthalmologist (I'm diabetic, so I have to see them once every few years). Very impressed!

A bit late in this discussion but I have had Dr Pogue on St Joseph in Orleans since I was a kid and have always had great prescriptions. Also he seems to charge less than other eye doctors that I've heard of in the city.

I've been seeing Dr. Hardy at Barrhaven Optometric. Got my new glasses there and they gave me a great deal. She also gave me a referral to another doctor that really helped out my situation. 10/10 WDBWA https://barrhavenoptometric.com/

I've been to Ottawa Optometric Clinic 1285 Kilborn Ave Ottawa, ON K1H 6K9 They've got a great office and serious features with their exams, taking photos of the back of your eyeball and stuff. It was cool.

I went to the Merivale Optometric clinic while I was still living in town and they seemed to do a more thorough job than my own optometrist at home. It also cost double what I usually pay.

See an ophthalmologist then?
GoP-Demon replied:
My guy seems thorough... he always does the air burst in the eye and other stuff that makes me sensitive to light for a few minutes so I can't drive. Checks between lots of lenses and does a few different tests. I remember he got some new eye scanning thing last year also. De Vries Albert on 1400 clyde.

Dr Lavigne at Eyemaxx on Elgin.

Doctor Keith Beauchamp. I have been seeing him for some twenty years. He also sells frames and has the expert knowledge of what fits you. http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/89540/Dr-Keith+A.-Beauchamp-Ottawa-ON.html
JediCow replied:
Try Dr. James Tripp or his associate optometrist (can't remember her name but she awesome, she did my last exam). Its 150 bucks but they do a stellar job and explain things in a clearlnsimple manor if you have any questions. Also they don't sell glasses thus you get your prescription and do what you want with it; I find this to be a key factor as I hate being hagled to try and buy frames from the optometrist.
Can anyone recommend a good optician for babies/kids?

George we went to Ottawa Optometric Clinic- it's off Kilborn. I took William there. They are great with kids.

I take Joe to Barrhaven Optometric (Dr. Hardy) and she was awesome with him. His first appointment was at age 3.
So my eye has been twitching for over 3 weeks. I think I need my eyes checked.
Do we have any lady opticians in the group?
Can you recommended somewhere in the south...
