I need a Going to College For the First Time doula. Who do I know that knows the system well and can be my guide through all my fears and anxiety??

From the midwife.org page, it looks like certification requires you to be a Registerd Nurse (RN), but there are associate degree RNs and bachelors degree RNs. If the associates RN gives you enough preparation to take the CNM certification exam, you mi ght not need to transfer to university at all. Maybe talk to some CNMs to see what type of RN degree they got? If you want to start at community and transfer to ASU, the Maricopa Community Colleges work fairly closely with ASU so most of your credits should transfer pretty well.

Hi Kaitlin! We have a private group, that is much more active than our page, if you would like to repost your question there! https://www.facebook.com/groups/ICANofPhoenix/
Have any of my Phoenix friends used a doula or know of a friend who used one here? I am interviewing a few now and would love some referrals if you know of any. Thanks!

I found a doula that I clicked with today! Her name is Katie DiBenedetto. Now I am looking into birthing center options because I haven't heard such great things about the hospitals my ob delivers at. I really like Blossom Birth Center! I have an appt to take a tour on Monday. I might just do this natural thang!!

Ive heard great things about Baby Moon Inn. Thats where we are taking "The Birth Journey" class, which u should look into especially if you are thinking of taking the natural route. I have a close friend who chose this path and birthed at home. I can give you her info if you want to pick her brain. She's full of great advise! Keep in mind, a birth center will not allow u to have an epidural if u decide u need one. Have you checked out scottsdale-shea hospital? Thats where we are going and I feel very confident that i can have as close to a natural birth as possible and without any intervening. Plus i can get the meds if i decide to. Just some ideas:) good luck with whatever you choose!!
It restores my hope in the medical establishment when I hear things like, "I'm looking for a doula… My doctor suggested that I get one."
