Lasik recommendations My wife is looking to get Lasik. We are looking for recommendations from people for a DFW provider that you have surgery from. Just looking for...

1. Do your homework. Lasik and PRK are not always 100% successful in giving 20/20 vision with never needing glasses again. There are additional vision changes rhat are possible. Learn about them. 2. Shop around at 3-4 opthalmologists. Ask them what makes you a good or bad candidate for lasik or PRK. Only pursue custom Lasik. Do not give a serious look at any practice that uses assembly line Lasik or that offers coupons or groupons. 3. I am 100% happy with my custom Lasik at Dr Hu / Dr Ranelle at Texas Eye and Laser in Hurst. I did my homework though and I was a good candidate.

[Texas Eye & Laser] ( http://www.lasikdr.com) I had mine done last summer by Dr. Hu. I had 20/20 by the next day. My eyes were sensitive to bright lights for a couple months afterwards but that eventually faded. Plus their work comes with a lifetime guarantee, if it ever needs touched up it's free.
Lecterman replied:
Thanks all. Her optometrist recommended Dr. Hu and Dr. Ranelle also, so she will probably end up there.

Save yourself several thousand and go on a vacation while you're at it. Go to Costa Rica and get it done. It's far cheaper with the same technology. While I can't say I've had it done myself, I have several close friends who have and are very pleased. I plan take my "procedure vacation" in the next year or so.

I also used Dr Hu at Texas eye and laser. 6 years later, I'm still very happy with my results and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The cowboy Lasik is on the radio all the time, they've done a lot of cowboys and NFL players including RG3. http://www.cartereyecenter.com/

My wife had her Lasik done at Kleimann Evangelista about three months ago. We went here on the recommendation of several of her co-workers and friends. She really enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Highly recommended: http://www.lasiksurgery.com/

I went to LASIK Plus in Plano. I was very happy with my results, Dr. Smith was one of the pioneers for this surgery for air force pilots. I barley saw 20/20 with corrective lenses, I now see in 20/10. Not to mention the surgery has a lifetime warranty.

I bought my wife a LASIK procedure as a Christmas present about 8 years ago. We went to Dr Booth. At that time he was one of only two places that I knew who were doing custom LASIK. She was quite nearsighted before the procedure (about a -6 prescription) after the LASIK she was a perfect 20/20, and still is 8 years later. I would not recommend Dr Booth, however, if it is possible to get those kinds of results somewhere closer, and sees fewer patients at a time. His office is in Plano, and he only did surgeries at 4:30 or 5:00am. Which means to get there on time from funky town we had to get up around 3:00. Not that big of a deal really, but I like sleeping in when I have the day off. Also, the patients are herded through that place like cattle at a slaughter house. Groups of 20 or so folk go through at a time getting the different steps of the procedure done. I don't blame them for it, with the volume of patients they treat, running folks in batches is the only way it would work. I guess what I'm saying is, the process kinda sucked, but the results have been awesome.

I had mine done in 2012 at Tylock in Irving. I had 20/220 vision with an astigmatism prior to the procedure. 20/15 immediately after and haven't looked back since.

My wife and I did Key-Whitman in Dallas. One LASIK, one Implantable Collamer Lens. The (correctly) identified that I was not a LASIK candidate and suggested ICLs (something I had previously researched and went to them due to their expertise in the procedure). I'm now at -1 in both eyes, which I fully consider a successful result , given my initial prescription. My wife is 20/20 post-op with LASIK. Would recommend them/would use them again.

I will put in a recommendation for Clearview up by Southlake along 170/114. I used them for my ICL surgery (my eyes were too bad to do lasik). Had a great experience with them both pre and post-op. Enough that I swapped to them for my checkup appointment this year.
So I'm really wanting to get lasik eye surgery. Any recommendations on who to go to in the Dallas area??
Alex H. replied:
Dr. Bowman in Dallas (eye institute of Texas building). I had it 18 months ago. Had no problems and great results. Tell him I referred you to get $1,000 off.

I know two people that went to Key Whitman on Lemmon that have been totally thrilled with results...

Derek used Dr. Tylock 7 years ago, no issues!

Phil went to Dr. Boothe when the girls were little. He had 0 personality but Phil never had any problems. Both Courtney and Erin need to have that surgery as well.
I'm thinking of considering lasik surgery. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the Plano area for a consult?
Peggy N. replied:
I went to Cornea Associates, but they are not in Plano.
Natalie M. replied:
David went to DR Booth in Plano over 15 years ago. Shannon sent us there. Years later an eye DR told him he couldn't tell that he had lasik and to date he is still glasses free. Good Luck!
Samara T. replied:
I used Dr Bradley Bowman who was recommended by a physician that I work with. They are in Dallas though by presby Dallas.
