U should call me 919-271-2618. Barker also operated on my hip but sent me to Chivetta as he is very specialized...vaughn is to old, you want a young surgeon with young eyes, he operated on my grandma and she dies in 98 as did Faygembaum brother's.
Christy W. replied:

Shawn. Dr. Chiavetti is the specialist that the other ortho MDs refer to up here. He is the only one willing to work with my knee because it is so complicated.
Kay C. replied:
Dr Bradley Vaughn with Raleigh Orthopaedic...offices in garner, cary and raleigh...did my hip replacements and my dads knee replacements...a perfectionist and his bedside manner is great as well! (919) 863-6808 for appt. just sayin...

Raleigh Orthopedic in Garner. Ask for Dr. Vaungh.
Stefanie L. replied:
Dr. Vaughn just replaced both my father's knees. They had him up walking by that afternoon
Ron R. replied:
Robert Wyker at Raleigh Orthropedic is the best, Replaced both my wifes knees at once and next day she was up walking and after 2 weeks was playing golf, He also did her wrist, arm anhle, great nice guy and great at all surgeries, Dont go anywhere else,
Deborah H. replied:
Don't know what your problem is but I had problems before the ACL deal. One of my quad muscles was stronger than the other three. Dr. Barker said he sees this a lot. I went through physical therapy and it took care of it. Greg Hogan is by far the best physical therapist I have seen and I have seen my fair share believe me. He is at Raleigh Orthopedic in Garner.
Julie C. replied:
John Chivetta Raleigh, he does hips & knees. He did my hip replacement n August, i was back to work n 2 1/2 weeks.
Chris C. replied:

Shannon W. replied:
Dr Galland at osnc is great too! He is an orthopaedic who actually understands athletes.
MaryBeth K. replied:
I second Dr. Pirigyi. He's the man! Really, really smart guy and he'll shoot you straight. He's all about fixing the root of the problem rather than masking the symptoms (i.e. muscle relaxers).
Jennifer M. replied:
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions. I saw Dr. Galland today and I felt like I finally got somewhere. He was encouraging and actually listened to what I had to say. Thanks again!
I need help. I'm a 26 year old female who was just diagnosed with RA. I need a rheumatologist/orthopedic specialist/ pain management. I have an appointment with triangle...
Vicky C. replied:
Have you tried Raleigh Orthopedic? Dr. Greer? My mom goes to him and we really like him. He has an office off Durant Rd.
Lynn H. replied:
Try Raleigh Rheumatology
Kim G. replied:
Rheumatologist Dr. Shanahan is amazing!!! http://www.shanahanrheumatology.com/
Diane L. replied:
Who diagnosed you? They should be able to give you some temporary pain medication until you see a pain specialist. I also see Shanahan Rheumatology for RA but you'll wait a bit to be seen as new patient.
Shantelle C. replied:
Nikk Folts everyone is saying something is triggering it. It came out of no where. I have it in my spine and I'm 100% now my hands are getting worse.
Michelle F. replied:
Following. I use Triangle orthopedics. The positive is my orthopedist, pain dr, hand specialist and rheumatologist are all in one system. I have heard great things about Dr Greer at Raleigh orthopedics. My rheumatologist has not yet decided which arthritis I have yet which bugs me but I started treatment. I also joined Healthtrax. The pool is great. Alicia - what does Elderberry syrup do?
Linda H. replied:
Changing your diet and eliminating gluten is a great start. If you are interested, research the Auto-Immune/Paleo diet. I have four auto-immune illnesses and this way of eating has changed my life, and helped to stop the progression of my symptoms. It may seem strict, but it is very worth it. I see Dr. Suzanne Zorn, a rheumatologist, but I do not know if she accepts Blue Value. All the best to you in your search, and prayers for improved health.
Kathleen S. replied:
Dr. Joseph Shanahan is wonderful!
Ashley K. replied:
I use NC Arthritis and Allergy Care Clinic. I see Dr T. I have really like them. They are off Six Forks near North Hills

Can anyone recommend a good orthopedic doctor to go to. I pushed myself hard during the WFAR 5k . I want to have my ankle looked at since it's been bothering me since...
Pam W. replied:
Dr Mark Galland. Great ortho. Doctor
Steve T. replied:
Oh. I'm sorry, I was joking. You should go to Dr. Suckitupski. I heard he's great!
Jennifer M. replied:
Dr. Galland. I saw 4 other docs before I saw him and what a difference it was! He was the first doc to actually listen to what I was saying and look for a real solution. He ended up sending me to Dr. Scruggs in the same practice and Scruggs was equally wonderful. I highly recommend them.

Captain Morgan is for knee strains, hence the foot up knee bending exercises. What you need is Tequila, as that will keep you off your feet....
Looking for a great orthopedist recommendation for a friend. Someone who believes surgery should be last option.
Kathleen M. replied:
Dr Welker said my fx wrist pain was due to age. He failed to examine further and the physical therapist is the one who diagnosed me with traumatic De Quervain's. needless to say I fired him. Raleigh hand actually listens and offers practical solutions before surgery.
Sandy O. replied:
Dr DAVID BOONE for ankles......and Dr LYMAN SMITH for knees ......I can check into hips if need be
Kelly A. replied:
Dr Martini - Car Orthopedics
Jennifer T. replied:
Hadley Calaway at Raleigh Ortho. He told me that because I was young and wanted to stay active in tennis, surgery was recommended. But he gave me other examples (for my ACL) where surgery wouldn't be always the best option. He's active, well-educated, was Ortho for NY Giants and other pro sports teams. My mom, a nurse (so a tough cookie/honest feedback on docs), really liked him (as did I).
Kathleen M. replied:
Hand - dr post at Raleigh hand. Stay away from dr Welker at Raleigh Ortho. Pushes surgery too much and places blame for pain on getting old instead of looking for the real problem.
Any recommendations for an orthopedic surgeon? I have a fractured clavicle. Thanks.
Michael W. replied:
Joseph Barker...Raleigh Ortho. Team doctor for Hurricanes. I used him for tibial stress fracture last year. Specializes in sports med.
Dennis K. replied:
Ted Armour Cary orthopedic and a Triathlete
Lauren G. replied:
Second Dr. Armour...he gets the stubborn athlete thing
Rebecca S. replied:
I went to Triangle Ortho and saw a hand/arm and upper extremity specialist. When I fell off and broke my arm/wrist a few weeks ago...if you go to the Triangle Ortho page and read about their Dr's you can find one that will specialize in your area of injury... I probably would not get a knee ortho for an upper extremity injury... I saw Dr. Kuremesky and have really liked my experience overall with Triangle.
Nicole P. replied:
If you're interested in seeing someone in the Duke system I recommend Dr Grant Garrigues. He did my capsular release surgery.
Rick E. replied:
I ended up seeing Dr. Jones at Triangle Bone and Joint affiliated with Duke Raleigh Hospital. Recommendation is to see what happens over the course of one week. if it improves, no surgery.
I have a friend who is looking for an orthopedic doctor in the area. She is trying to avoid surgery and is looking for a good doctor who's first reaction isn't surgery...
Jen W. replied:
Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic on Edwards Mill was great for me!
Ron D. replied:
Definitely Raleigh Orthopedic. They are very specialized so the doctor is determined on what you need, ie foot, hand, knee etc.
Benjie E. replied:
Orthapedics Specialist of N.C at Rex Healtcare in Wakefield. Dr. Galland is my doctor.
