I know this question has been posted many times, but I can't seem to find the post, so I apologize in advance.... I am looking for an endocrinologist. This will be #5...
Michelle D. replied:
I highly recommend Advanced Integrated Healthcare. I see Sherin George. I've gone to the regular Dr a few times the last couple of years to get checked for thyroid related issues and tests always came back within the normal range so they wouldn't treat me. Thought about an endo Dr but decided to try the functional Dr route. I've been on natural meds and supplements for a month now and feel like a different person.

I never had any luck with finding an endocrinologist who would prescribe Armour Thyroid for me. I've been very happy with Dr William Epperly in Bloomingdale. He doses based on symptoms and not numbers. He has been my doctor for almost 10 years.
Amy K. replied:

I'm looking for a recommendation for an Endocrinologist that is good with serious thyroid issues.
Michelle P. replied:
Academic Endocrinology Wheaton. I see Dr. Skjei (pronounced Shay). They are precise and take care of you with such care. I've been to Dr. Karas and her colleague and while she was nice the nursing staff and lab staff were not. They criticized me for bringing my son with for blood draws because he cried. I had no other choice I was pregnant with a 1 1/2 year old. I also blame her colleague for messing with my meds so much during my first pregnancy that my son was born with such high thyroid levels we were sent to a top pediatric endocrinologist (Dr. Zelller). That's how I found Skjei's office and never looked back. My second son's levels at birth were much lower and flattened out within 2 weeks not 6 months. It's a drive to Wheaton but 100% worth it as 7 years later I have balanced levels and my medicine does the job. Good luck!
