I was going to say kuzora fitness, but apparently everyone beat me to it. John A Kuzora and his staff are excellent trainers.
Jenny B. replied:
Leah Schmidt, John A Kuzora and everyone at Kuzora Fitness is encouraging and supportive. It is not an intimidating environment at all. I have been a member for 3 years now and have lost 108 lbs and 5 clothing sizes! With John's help and by following his plan, I have accomplished something I only ever dreamed of. I had spent 10 years at the YMCA "working out" and would just yo-yo the same 20 lbs. John's plan and methods really do work. There are many success stories that come out of Kuzora Fitness. Small group training consists of 2-8 people usually and boot camp may be up to 12 or so. Small and intimate and the clients get to know each other. I hope this helps!

Kuzora has a few plans and options. The boot camp has a 1 month special at $87 (unlimited boot camps) and then it goes to $147. Personal training and small groups are offered also but I'm not sure of the cost. I am doing a tour at Rex Wellness at Wakefield on Friday and I heard it is somewhere in the $52 per month range (pool included). Personal Trainers are additional.

Hi. I'm Michael Welch and I'm a personal trainer here in wake forest. I own my own private studio. You can check it out at Www.myperfectforms.com I've been a trainer and fitness coach here for over 5 yrs and pride myself on being able to customize a workout plan that can realistically help you achieve your goals. I've worked with a wide range of clientele including elite level athletes and people who had never played a sport or picked up a barbell in their life. I offer a 99$ introductory package for three one hour sessions that includes a session to do measurements, a complete history, an assessment of your strength, balance, flexibility, co ordination, and endurance, and set goals, then I customize two one hour sessions to meet your needs. This way you aren't locked into any long term commitment if it turns out to not be a good fit for you. All sessions are strictly one on one and you are never "on display". Some of the other suggestions are good ones...the custom built chiks is a great support group and I attend classes at crossfit confortare bc sometimes I need motivation too. But if you are feeling a little insecure and need a "jump start" on your fitness journey in a safe place, perfect forms may be the right place for you.

I'm not really sure I understand what you are looking for, help me out! Are you looking for a group like a Meetup group? Or a class? Wake Forest Yoga www.wakeforestyoga.com isn't a gym & there's no membership, same for Yoga Blyss with Conni. Both are private studios with drop in fees or group packages. Sheila Gooch & Marty Gooch also organize a free yoga class every Sunday morning at 8:30 in Joyner Park. There's a Facebook group that they can add you to. Another option for a group would be to start your own & hires yoga teacher to do semi privates. Good luck!!

One listed here that is more of a respite for parents is coming up, but you might get in touch with the director for more ideas. On another note, special needs kids are ALWAYS made very welcome at Winterpast Farm petting zoo in Wake Forest which I own. Polar Ice House at the factory. If you're worried about lack of experience in skating you can add a skate coach to do a lesson with the kids and they teach them the basics. I'm a party hostess there and I have found that the kids (and parents) really enjoy it. I also work down at MVP (also at the factory) which gives the kids the opportunity to play basketball or soccer. That's something they can either do on their own, or you can also add a coach to that as well to help guide them. Lots of fun, zero stress on parents, great facilities, and reasonably priced.
