I'm going to hit 10 years in remission this year!! I love my Oncologist right here in Flo Mo! Dr. Michael Park he's my on Earth savior!

Dr. Park is terrific. Smart, compassionate, and great bedside manner.

Dr Gupta - he's at Texas oncology but at Baylor Plano. He saved my life - literally. Wouldn't go to anyone else. So clear, understanding, andcompassionate. All about quality of life. Seems far but so easy and fast. Went twice a day every day forever. Now 5 1/2 yrs out!

My mom saw Dr. Gupta in Plano. She liked him.

Dr. John Adams and Dr Firstenberg at Arlington Cancer center. My Mom and my wife both had stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Adams. Nancy Brinker "Susan B Coleman sister" uses them.

I am almost three years in remission. I highly recommend any of the medical oncologists who specialize in BC at UTSW. I've been under the care of several and VERY pleased with each one. First doctor retired, next one moved and now with department head, Thos. Froehlich. I think you will be pleased with all the doctors there! It seems like all the oncologists at Texas Oncology in Flower Mound are great, and the nurses in the infusion room are excellent. The oncologist chosen will depend on the type of cancer, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend our hometown oncology center.

I think it really depends on the type of cancer they have, the location and the stage. My mom went to MD Anderson three years ago with the intention of getting a plan and going back home to Florida for most of her treatment. She had Estophageal cancer, stage 3B. Given the doctors and technology at MD Anderson, she and Dad decided to stay there and get all her treatment there. She had something called induction chemo for 6 weeks, then proton therapy daily and chemo once a week, then recovery for a month and then surgery to remove 2/3 of her esophagus and 1/3 of her stomach. In total, my parents spent about 8 months in Houston (MDA will help with finding temporary housing if necessary) and we truly believe this saved Mom's life. If they don't recommended staying, they will usually recommend a local doctor/practice.

Texas Oncology at Flower Mound Presbyterian is great. Wonderful Doctors, Technicians, nurses and staff. They make you feel like family.

Depending on the type of Cancer. Dr Collins at UT southwestern is fabulous and specializes in leukemia. We had our sister in law moved to UT southwestern from New Mexico and they put her up in an apartment after stem cell transplant.

I went to Dr. Barry Firstenburg . He is defiantly on the cutting edge of oncology!! Before chemo he had a test ran on my cancer mass . It was done in California and it's called oncotypeDX . This was fresh out of New York and it is 19 different test that show the reoccurrence rate in 10 years and in 20 years. That allows him to know exactly what type of chemo you need. My rates were sky high Now with the chemo I was given my reoccurrence rate is 3% in 10 years and 6% in 20 years. I owe this Dr my life !! He is located in Trophy Club but I would definitely recommend him!! This is a extremely hard journey and I pray for your family member !

Dr. Park at TX oncology is great and the nurses are amazing! My mom was treated at MD Anderson, but it can be very difficult to get in there. They do have a hotel attached to the hospital for visiting family and have apartments they can recommend for patients who are seeking treatment from out of town.

I'm so sorry your family member is going through this. The oncologist you follow up with would need to be within the specialty of the type of cancer your loved one is dealing with. For instance, my mom got treatment here, also at medical city with Dr. Fine, who is excellent. His specialty is gynecological oncology. If that's not what your family member is dealing with, he wouldn't be the person to see.

I recommend Texas Oncology, I personally see Dr. Costa, and love him, but the nurses in the infusion room are wonderful, too.

Tx Oncology is great. I started my first few months of treatment at MDA. Then finished the last 7 1/2 months back in Dallas at TX Oncology.

UT Southwestern for sure. They, specifically Dr Mansour, saved my brother from pancreatic cancer when the top doctor in the world for this type of tumor at MD Anderson told him there was nothing they could do. Dr Mansour disagreed, told him he had maybe a week left for it to work, but he saw an option. And he was right. He told him it would move to his liver but it was easier for them to treat there, and it has. He lives in MS, has a doctor set up in Alabama he sees for scans, etc but comes here for any treatments. Everyone reports back to Dr Mansour.

I would highly recommend Dr Park in Flower Mound.

Dr Echt at Las Colinas Cancer Center was mine, I can't say enough good things about him and his staff, in a very busy practice, they always made me feel like I was their only patient. Was great at a very scary and sickening time in my life.

Dr Dennis Costa at TX Oncology Flower Mound is a wonderful doctor and a kind, generous man. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had no insurance. Through The Bridge Breast Network, he donated his services to me. After chemo, radiation and surgery, I am cancer free. And he gives me s hug after every visit. I feel like he truly cares about each and every patient. He is a partner with Dr. Park.

I have worked with Drs. Ewalt, Strand and Harrison and they are all exceptional surgeons. Dr. Strand is also a personal friend and has a wonderful way with patients and their families.

I have been very happy with my oncologist Dr. Park at Texas Oncology here in Flower Mound. What type of oncologist (general, surgical, radiation, hematology, etc) are you needing?

Took my mom to Texas Onocology right in front of the FM Hospital. Dr Costa was excellent in handling my mom!!

I also went to Dr. Costa for years along with several people I know. I went down to Texas Oncology off of 121 by Vista Ridge Mall, so it's nice to know that he has an office closer in Flower Mound!

Dr Park is excellent. He is part of north Texas oncology. Great practice. I go to the grapevine location and have been very happy with the staff and doctors.

Make sure a GP is the choice your looking for with that width of a knowledge base. Internal med docs treat whole body and have a good understanding of disease processes in their treatments. There are D.O.'s (usually more of the natural/supplement side of medicine) and if you find a Naturopathic (sp) trained physician that is even better. My family has used a Naturopath as our 'GP' and he does treat the whole body naturally but not a medically trained doctor.
