Cara Bonnice I had a HORRIBLE experience at Dr. Shaker's urgent care facility right by Sam's Club. Worst appointment of my life and he did absolutely NOTHING to help me and I was a mess that day. I ended up at the ER where I finally got treated... I pray it goes better for you there. Seeing as it was an urgent care facility, I thought I could go there just for one visit to try him out. But his office made me switch him to my PCP before they would see me. So I called my insurance carrier and asked if I could switch to see him, but switch back if it didn't go well. They assured me I could. Well, after that terrible experience there I obviously called my carrier back and told them I want switched back to my old PCP (Diagnostic Associates in GBG), which they did. But yesterday I tried to make an appt with Dr. Wynert at Diagnostic Associates and they are telling me that Dr. Wynert may not allow me to come back because I went to Shaker's and signed a form for them to release my medical info. Now I'm really mad at Diagnostic Associates AND Dr Shaker. I have no idea why releasing my medical info would get me kicked out of a Dr's office I've been going to for over 3 years. I called my carrier today just to confirm that my PCP was still Dr Wynert at Diagnostic Associates and they told me it surely is, so it's not like my visit won't be covered. Dr. Wynert's office appears to be very shady as well, to turn away a long time patient just for trying out a different doctor. Anyway, just an FYI of my nasty experience. You may want to reconsider Shaker.
Matt M. replied:
I may have to find a new PCP myself now. Dr Wynert was not in today so his nurse told me that she will have to ask him tomorrow if I can come back since I saw another doctor and released my info to them. If he won't let me come back I'm going to be infuriated, because finding a new doctor will take a while and I need an appt ASAP. Phew...
Deborah A. replied:
Matt sorry about your problem...but doctors do have a right to refuse you as a patient...any more with all the new rules that the FDA has put on doctors and the many law suits and the high price of malpractice insurance...doctors are getting pickier and pickier ...try Dr. Richard Conn in Scottdale, he is right down rt 119 south..not hard to get to...he accepts new patients and he understands the right of the patient to find a doctor that they feel comfortable with...I was unsatisfied with the old PCP I had and by word of mouth I found Dr. Conn..and he has refereed me to 2 great specialists that I needed to see....give him a call...good luck dude !
Deborah A. replied:
Stay away from Dr. Stephen Miles in Youngwood...office staff is very mean and unprofessional....Meridith the nurse is terrible...he has had may complaints about her...matter of fact my new PCP's office staff have heard bad things about her and the office...
Matt M. replied:
Thanks Deborah. I do understand a doctor's right to refuse patients, but in my case I was already a patient with Wynert for years. All I did was see one other doctor and then switched back. Technically, Gateway told me that my PCP change was never even finalized, so according to them I've always had Dr Wynert as a PCP. It would be strange for him to kick me out simply for signing a form to release medical info to another office. That info is mine to do with as I please.

Deborah A. replied:
If U have transportation I would try Dr. Conn ...he is a good guy and his office staff bend over backwards to help U..as I said he is very religious which I think makes him such a good doctor...he is also a PHD....
Deborah A. replied:
Like I said Dr. Conn is a PHD too...he referred me to Dr. Wang at Westmoreland Hosp. right across from hospital actually...she is great and she got me my meds for anxiety and other things...try Excela web sight..they list all doctors under which field U are looking for...U should be able to find a female PCP there...

Dr. Christopher Rihn724-832-9300. He is primarily an Internist but I see him as my primary. He's great and works with me as I am opposed to taking too much medication or undergoing unnecessary testing. His office is behind WalMart (Greensburg).
